Not animated

2006-10-17 Thread Gunivortus Goos
Hi,

mostly, if new mail has arrived, The TB-icon in the
taskbar gets the animated bat. But too regular, this
doen't happen; allthough mail has arrived, the icon
keeps its 'no mail to read' status.
What could cause that?

Just a thought. Is it because the mail that has arrived is marked as
read by a filter? If not then I have no idea :-(

Unfortunately that's not the solution, it concerns both filtered
and unfiltered (inbound folders) mail.

I don't know really, if it is a TB problem, or a XP one.

I never noticed that... but maybe in folder properties "General"-"Show
unread messages in Mailticker" could be of some effect. I have
selected that option on all folders, but I do not display the
mailticker at all.
(just a guess...!)

Unfortunately that isn't the solution. Each folder is
checked to display that.

Did you check optinos/preferences/general? There is a tick mark for
the animated icon.

Yes, that one is checked too.
As I wrote, it happens regularly, but not always.
If it happens that the tray-icon keeps 'silent', all though new mail
has arrived, I shut down TB, restart and then it is OK again, the
animated icon is back. But I don't know, what's the reason.

I can't see why one should need mor than 5 activations. Are you really

That would be pretty boring. Sitting in an Internet Cafe, not
being able to run any program file. ;-)

Anyway, for what it's worth: Forte Agent is the perfect portable
solution for mailing in an Internet Cafe. No problems with
registry settings or activation limitations whatsoever. The only
thing needed is an agent.ini file with a valid registration key
in it.
