As you talk about the common trash folder I suppose that the filter
moves the message to a common folder instead of a account folder. When
a message is moved to a common folder the association with the
receiving account is lost.
Even though it's the way TB works I wouldn't call it a feature. As
it's a WAD, it isn't a bug either. Let's call it a nuisance. :-)

Don't worry about the late reply. As it happens, I was away for a
couple of days too!

I'm not using any filtering view to see the Inbox. Its size in the
last few days has increased to more than 5MB from about 800KB even
though if I total the new messages now shown in it they don't add up
to that size. I also tried to see if there are any deleted messages
that may explain the figure, but there was only one - a Welcome
message from RIT Labs.

I also tried the importing test that you suggested. It imported only
the current Inbox messages, but not also the ones that are hidden (or
gone?).

Any suggested timeline on a beta version with the printing problem
fixed. I'm using a work around now, however, a fix would be
appreciated in the near future.

This is other kind of stuff: failures of native backup tool. Errors should
be fixed.

Limit to watched folders?

2008-10-17 Thread Rick
I set up a virtual folder to watch 15 outboxes. Some of them would not
stay checked. I even deleted and recreated the folder.

I finally unchecked some of the accounts. It seems it can handle
around 6 folders. IS there a limit?

2008-10-17 Thread MAU
Hello Costas,

> I'm not using any filtering view to see the Inbox.

It was a possibility. It wouldn't be the first time I use a quick filter
(Alt+click on something) and then forget to Escape it and when I move to
another folder no messages are shown.

That's weird. You may try one more thing to try to see what's
happening. Move the messages that you now see to another folder and then
compress (Remove Deleted is called now) the Inbox. What size is it now?
You may then also try to open the messages.tbb file with a text editor
and see if there is any text part that "resembles" any of your old
messages.

I was also going to suggest that.

Did you check the size of the folder after importing?

I'm actually running out of ideas.

Hello Miguel,

> I'm actually running out of ideas.

Thank you again for the response. Moving the messages and compressing
the folder does *not* alter the folder size in the Bat's tree folder
view. Even after importing messages the filesize per The Bat does not
change in the folders tree. I think there must be something wrong with
the program installation or the message indexes (or both) and it's
probably beyond repair.

Sadly, there seems to be only one solution: Reinstall from the working
backup of 24 August, and bite the bullet as far as the more recent
messages are concerned, that is accept the fact that they are gone for
good. :(

It's not the Bat's fault, and all the odds were against me. A failing
hard disk, not having a recent email backup, making a backup that
apparently didn't work (probably because of the faulty hard disk),
using an alpha version of the software etc. etc.
