Hi Mark,

I am already testing IMAP withThunderbird. Because I have Outlook on my
computer I thought let's see how IMAP works with this ;-)
To soon to let you know...

I must have Outlook on this PC (for software related to my job). I use it as
little as possible because, after all these years it's main feature still is
using RAM.

Thunderbird OTOH is, of all the many mailers I have tested, the one that excels
in getting uninstalled within 1 day after installation...

Oh well, everyone uses whatever suits him/her best and by no means I am
implying that TB! cannot be improved. Personally I think that the software
world has missed a chance by not developing some kind of universal address book
which could be shared by several applications (Mailer, Pim, Editors...)...

It sounded like it. Reading that Thunderbird is your preferred program
to be uninstalled, and re-reading the post I replied to, makes it
sound differently. ;-)

Not missed a chance. It is in the interest of the software
developers to make it difficult for the users to switch to a competing
product.

Re: Postponed sending is not working

2009-09-12 Thread Rick
 G'day Neal,

On Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 2:33:25 PM, you (Neal Laugman) wrote:

NL No macros - just setting it per message via the message menu:

NL Options Send timing +15 (or +1 hour)

NL and that works perfectly fine. It looks like it may be in in the
NL macro/templating system. Are your templates per folder or from and
NL address group/individual?

That is the same as picking the icon in the editor status bar and
setting it from there. Here there is no difference. It does not work.

NL After reading Rick's last message I think you need to look at where
NL the macro/template is. In previous TB! versions - v2+ - there were all
NL kinds of strand things with folder templates that would happen, But
NL that could have been in the days that TB! was build using my beloved
NL Delphi and it's VCL. What do you think?

I have had no success with any method. I have it in an account
template, but it makes no difference whether it is in an account
template, or a folder template, or an address book template or whether
I set it while editing a message.

The problem is that the status bar says that delayed sending is in
effect, the correct value is shown there, I get the alert when I send
the message telling me when it will go out, the message is there in
the outbox, the Scheduler has an activity set to go off at the
nominated time. It is strange that it only gives you 1 second for the
event to trigger. I am going to try and extend that trigger time as
the scheduler indicates the event will be stopped one second after it
is started. Maybe that is the issue. Let's see if that works.

So much for that. I increased the duration from 1 second to 10
 seconds, but no luck.

I have finally got it to send 3 of the 5 postponed messages ... on time ... a
couple of times.

I sure wish Ritlabs was in on this discussion :))
