The ability to configure multiple smtp-servers. Can be convenient when
you switch networks regularly. Your office LAN might forbid outgoing
smtp connections or your regular ISP only permits connections to their
smtp server while you're connected via their LAN. In those cases you
might like to switch the smtp-server for a given account.

For desktop oriented systems like mine it's not very usefull. ;-)

As expected RITlabs can't do it right, can it? When they went with a
near-subscription model asking us for money once a year, people didn't
like it. They switch back to pay per version AND are rather generous
with what counts as one version AND don't just change version numbers
every 9-12 months as certain other companies - and again it doesn't
fit what users want.

There is no logic to your assumption that an upper limit number should
actually be reached just because it is given. With any other company
you would have paid for v4.x.x, then again for v5.0.0. From a business
plan perspective - and I am talking not RITLabs but about us users -
we've gotten a lot out of a rather low investment. But then, these
plans look upon return over time. Not return upon arbitrary version
numbering.

Spam rating with TB seems very high

2012-04-14 Thread Steve Harris
I've just sent two identical emails. One was created with Outlook 2010 and the
other with TB 5.1

Both had exactly the same message body subject and everything.

I let TB receive both of them but cannot understand why the AntiSpamSniper
filter (default setting) rated the one created with Outlook 2010 at 55% and the
one created by TB at 75% and threw that in Junk.

They both were sent through the same server. The only difference between the
two emails was the client?

How can this be possible?

(Use X-Mailer header in messages) is unchecked.

Any ideas people?

Who knows what other information about your environment you will require? E.g.
IP may be not very descriptive, local domain or some other dhcp-provided
settings may characterize the network better. This way, it's best to provide a
way to run a custom script.

IMO, an ability to quickly select the 'active' server is good enough.

 What's new in 5.1.0.1 since 5.0.36.5:
 [+] MultiSMTP
 [+] Folder|Inbox Analyzer
 [+] Message|Tags
 etc...

Follow up on the new feature listed under Folder called Inbox Analyzer

The feature works. However, there are a few things that would make it
function in a
manner that is less confusing to the user.

1. There is some code in the bottom box of the open window. Not sure the
language
however, it looks like it should not be there.

2. Are the messages to be moved or simply copied. I could not tell from the
dialogue
box.

I suspect this feature is still under development. It makes sense to me.
However, a
few more steps of refinement and it should be ok for the average user.

All is well - all the key combinations seem to be workin
I apologize for wasting everyone's time but this mess was NOT obvious. Now I

Hi,

AdG Wouldn't it be a nice idea to put a finished 5.0.xx
AdG version on the site first and only thereafter proceed
AdG with the new 5.1.xx BETA agon^H^H^H^H run?

MM If you need a finished version, you can use v4.2.44 which is quite stable

v4 doesn't have working IMAP. I think this one has been discussed to
everyone's satisfaction, hasn't it?

In fact, the only thing not working for me in the last release v5.0.x
was the outgoing message can't be moved/has been parked in outbox
issue.

Can't you just put that quick one in and create another v5.0.x as a
final release of the branch? There have been guys waiting for that
one specifically, you know!

Removing all the betas one might use instead from your server doesn't
improve things, either.

Hi,

You need a new licence key for 5.1 if you only used the 4.xx key.
Update til 5.xx where covered and for 5.1 you need a version 5 licence
 key.
 That's a pity ... I don't have licence 5.1

GG I still have the archive tb50365.rar and could send it to you by
GG emailattach.

Could you please mail me a copy, too?

(Again) Google Address Book

2012-04-14 Thread Thomas Martin

Well its been a while since i wrote something in the Beta List.

Still seeing a lot of development in the right way, but the address book
is still behind the needs of the user.

No good Google Address book import or compatibility.

I am/was a Huge fan of The Bat! , i am the owner of thebatworld.de. But
because of this big lag i can not use The Bat! in the moment.
I have over 1.000 contacts in 30 groups, and we need a good Sync.
Plug-In like Thunderbird and even Outlook has.

Why is that so difficult?

Greetings
Thomas

I agree with the need to be google contact compatible. It works so
well with my android phone, my ipod, etc. It's really a bummer that I
can't use it with TB!

Looking in my TB under About, it states: Valid until version
5.0.99 However, the latest version before this 5.1 was 5.0.36.5,
still 63 versions to go until 99.
That statement in TB therefore looks like a cheap promise. :-(

Gunivortus, you are her in TB!beta since a long time. You know well
how that works. From v3 to v4 we didn't get to v3.99.99 and then
the Reg Key was done. So why should it be now different?

Just my 2c! Wish you a happy day :)

Change from Pop to IMAP

2012-04-14 Thread Eddie
Dear all,

I have a POP account that I'd like to change to IMAP (gMail Server).
It looks that this is not simply done by changing send handler from
pop.gmail.com to imap.gmail.com.

Must I create a new account on TB! or is there a simpler way? On gMail
I made the required changes already.

Yes, you need to create a new account.
Consider this: your pop3 account stores its messages local. The new
imap account stores its messages at the server. Suppose you could
change the account, that would mean you'd get an odd account with
local and remote folders or only remote folders with loss of your
local messages. Both are suboptimal solutions.
Therefore creating a new imap account is the best solution.

And Ritlabs being Ritlabs don't offer any other solution. ;-)
