Re: 5.3.8.4
Hello, Citing myself once more: MP ,--/ \ MP | I have a virtual folder that lists all the messages that came in the last 24 hours. MP | MP | I select the abovementioned folder. MP | In the message list I select the messageview 'unread'. MP | MP | In the folder-pane, I select the view in which only the folders that contain unread messages. MP | MP | All of a sudden, in the messageview-pane the unread messages are being read without me intervening MP | or being able to stop the proces. The read messages disappear from the list (which normally MP | doesn't happen unless I change the view from unread to all and then back to unread. MP | MP | But not only did these messages disappear from the unread view, they als disappeared from the MP | folders in which they had been sorted by several rules. MP | MP | I found them all in the trash folder; I had to sort them back to where they came from (luckily the MP | rules did most of the work). MP `-8--- MP The same happened now, execpt for the fact that I did not select the messageview 'unread' but was MP merely reading an unread message... After sending the above, I found out that the same had happened with the mail that came in the day before yesterday, so I went back to an older beta. It seems I am the only one who has this problem... -- Best wishes, Mark __ Message made with The Bat, 5.3.6.2 (BETA) -- Best Wishes, Mark Current beta is 5.3.8.4 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: 5.3.8.4
Hello Mark, After sending the above, I found out that the same had happened with the mail that came in the day before yesterday, so I went back to an older beta. It seems I am the only one who has this problem... I also use a folder called * Today's Messages * that was created a long time ago by a TB install. I love it and use it all the time to find out where messages were filtered to because the account log no longer shows filter results for automatic filtering for many versions now. After flipping between read/unread tabs in the message list it is now empty but the message counter shows some messages. I saved this message as a draft ready to shutdown TB to see if the message would come back and they came back before I restarted. Result: many strange behaviours but not the moving to Trash. Sorry. On similar note: the * Today's Message * folder appears outside of the account tree. I would like other virtual folders outside the account tree. Does anyone know how to do this? -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.3.8.4 (BETA) Current beta is 5.3.8.4 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi, I'd like to have a mental filter on incoming mail that could filter mail that has to be answered into the folder 'to be answered'. ;-) -- Regards, Gunivortus Using The Bat Vs. 5.3.8.4 (BETA) under Windows 8 Pro 64 bit POP3 only. Hello Tony, TH On similar note: the * Today's Message * folder appears outside of TH the account tree. I would like other virtual folders outside the TH account tree. Does anyone know how to do this? This is called a common virtual folder. You can find the command to create one via Right-click into folder-pane, New, New Common Virtual Folder. Hello mse, This is called a common virtual folder. You can find the command to create one via Right-click into folder-pane, New, New Common Virtual Folder. So it is. Hello Gunivortus, Thursday, March 14, 2013, 5:52:22 PM, you wrote: GG I'd like to have a mental filter on incoming mail that could filter mail that GG has to be answered into the folder 'to be answered'. GG ;-) I have one, but it is not automatic. It works as follows: Any mail that needs to be answered is hit by enter (hence opened in a new window, officially called Folder View) and gets a flag (crtl-G) when I check mails in the morning. This makes sense, because most mails I receive are just for my attention (by CC). The privilege of being the boss is to copied in on so many operational mails that I hardly take a glance at, so I need to prioritize. When I have seen all incoming mails and have a number of open windows in my TB, I start replying to the open ones one-by-one, and a reply filter takes the flag off. By the end of the business day, there should be no more open windows, and no flagged messages. However, we sometimes have blackouts, and that's where the flags come in (after power is restored): I go to a virtual folder which lists all the flagged messages, and I now which ones still to answer. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 5.3.8 under Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current beta is 5.3.8.4 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Mark, It seems I am the only one who has this problem... I remember seeing this problem, or very similar, when I was still using v4 and tried some of the first v5 betas. I was horrified seeing my messages, from different folders, just disappearing. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Re: Filter
Hello Thomas, GG I'd like to have a mental filter on incoming mail that could filter mail that GG has to be answered into the folder 'to be answered'. GG ;-) I have one, but it is not automatic. It works as follows: Mine is somewhat similar but without opening any windows. I use Smartspace to browse my received messages and to mark them as read. When this happens, a set of Read filters I have move the message to its appropriate archive folder. EXCEPT if the message just read was previously flagged (manually), in which case a different Read filter moves it to my 'For reply' folder and removes the flag. When I do reply to one of the messages in the 'For reply' folder, a set of Replied filters, with similar conditions and actions to the Read filters, move the just replied message to the appropriate archive folder. Added to this I have a [Must reply] virtual folder just underneath 'For reply', and which only looks into this folder and displays the messages that are older than X days (I change the value of X every now and then). -- Best regards, Miguel A.
