Re: The Bat! 8.5.4 MSI files
Hi Maxim, You guys do GREAT work! This from a 20 yr. user of the TheBat! That hasn't been active on the list for a long while but only because with 20 yrs. of messages from 6 accounts with almost 500K messages sorted to over a thousand folders I tend to be very careful with upgrading till a version looks pretty stable for a while... You can see attached my first message from you folks 20 yrs. ago! Keep up the SUPER work! I'd dare anyone to point to another email offering that could live up to my workload and still be searchable after all this time! I'm still running v7.4.14 for a long time without any problem but watching the list it looks like about time for another upgrade to 8.x :-) Best regards, Jim - Original message text -- From: Maxim Masiutin Received: Wednesday, Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at 3:55 PM To: Maik Lehmberg CC: Subject: The Bat! 8.5.4 MSI files Hello Maik, Wednesday, July 4, 2018, 9:52:10 PM, you wrote: > the problems with TLS 1.2 are fixed (server > email.gwdg.de)! Re: Enable POP access
From: Maxim Masiutin [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Enable POP access Hello Tbbeta, Unfrotunately, until we resolve this issue, you will have to login once via the web interface to www.thebat.net to enable POP access. Once you login and agree to the terms, you will see this screen http://www.google.com/mail/help/images/screenshots/enable_pop/pop.gif under Forwarding and POP task. I hope that this screen is quite self-explaining. Hi Goncalo, Did you figure out the steps to reproduce that? It seems to be affecting you more than anybody else - personally, I never had that problem. Re: Issues with threaded view
Hi Indie_Dev, Where are these settings stored. It seems the settings are stored in the config.cdb file which seems to be a binary CDB Database... I wonder whether somehow null/blank rows got added to the file may seem to obvious but perhaps are those clank row gaps selectable, and thus maybe able to be deleted from the views window? Re: Mod: Personal Attack (was: Mailing List Abuse)
Hi Rick, It is the easy and irresponsible way to deem someone a troll then conspire to ignore that person. Indie had genuine concerns although some would have been better posted to another list or in the forums. Getting an off list email by someone trying to hide NEEDS to be addressed. I had always understood the word troll in this context to mean someone who not only starts trouble but baits others into it. Apparently some of you apply that term to someone that disagrees with your preconceive notions. I suppose I too qualify as a troll I'd have to concur with your thoughts... being another developer that has 'trolled' this list since 1998, but infrequently do I have great insight to add... Indie has presented valid points to support his opinions, and to me those opinions and the supporting comments should be welcomed... his repartee to some dissenting opinions has typically been friendly in nature, thus I see no reason one should want to shun him on this list. His concern after being direct mailed anonymously offlist by someone presenting info that would make the most sense to be from someone privy to this list is warranted... and that type of behavior, in my opinion is just wrong, and there's nothing wrong with making that opinion well known to the perpetrator of such an act. Re: The Bat! 3.99.8 SSL Cert. Questions
Hi Folks, 6/1/2007, 14:00:36: FETCH - Certificate S/N: 432AECC1000303CF, algorithm: RSA (1024 bits), issued from 27 Mar 2006 to 27 Mar 2008, for 1 host(s): email.cisco.com. 6/1/2007, 14:00:36: FETCH - Owner: US, CA, San Jose, CIsco Systems, EMS, email.cisco.com. 6/1/2007, 14:00:36: FETCH - Issuer: Cisco Systems, Cisco SSL CA. !6/1/2007, 14:00:36: FETCH - TLS handshake failure. Invalid server certificate (This certificate has expired). But it wouldn't seem it's expired as says decoded valid from 27 Mar 2006 to 27 Mar 2008 ? So good for another 10+ months ? Well seems that this is truly an expire certificate regardless of what the log message shows as dates... I decided to try this server TLS/SSL with Outlook Express today and sure enough it also complained of an expired certificate.. A secure connection to the server could not be established. Account: 'email.cisco.com', Server: 'email.cisco.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC1A Though Outlook would have let me ignore this fault... :) Sorry to bother the list... -- Best Regards, Jim Current beta is 3.99.07 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: The Bat! 3.99.8 SSL Cert. Questions
Hi Thomas, JBThough Outlook would have let me ignore this fault... :) JBSorry to bother the list... Ritlabs is of the opinion that that it is in your best interest if they deny you the option of accepting an expired certificate. They say that they have heard of a grandmother who clicked on YES mistakenly, and now her system is broken. So, that's why folks who need to accept an expired certificate and really know what they are doing, cannot use TB! but must use Outlook. I'm a bit sad that Ritlabs is not interested in those customers who know what they are doing any more. THANX... After going though the effort to setup Outlook to test the account I remembered seeing this discussed in the past... thus the smiley after my comment... I can see RitLabs Point... BUT after 30+ years of Eng and support experience I'd have to second the suggestion that Alerting a User is Imperative... Denying a (knowledgeable) user after the Alert is excessive and Not in the best interest of the user OR product :( -- Best Regards, Jim Current beta is 3.99.07 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: Memory Usage
I had TheBat 3.98.12 using ~70MB at clean start (with 5 Pop accts) and loosing ~4-8KB on each mail check on the server which I do aggressively, every minute on 5 accounts... it didn't take but a few hours before Total KB of the proc was 420+MB ... repeated a second time... then went back to 3.98.11 and it's been relatively stable for 4+ hrs. (start at 70MB now 92MB with initially faster then slow growth curve. So I'd say major issue was checked in with .12 changes... Hi Cees, Up and running here too... Also I too was curious... at least one definition would be...; 'Qigong' is the key component of traditional Chinese medicine with a history of five thousand years (in record), which can be divided approximately into four major periods... More of the real definition I believe.. The word Qigong (pronounced chi kung) is a combination of two ideas: Qi means air, breath of life, or vital energy of the body, and gong means the skill of working with, or cultivating, self-discipline and achievement. The art of Qigong consists primarily of meditation, relaxation, physical movement, mind-body integration, and breathing exercises. Practitioners of Qigong develop an awareness of qi sensations (energy) in their body and use their mind to guide the Qi. When the practitioners achieve a sufficient skill level (master), they can direct or emit external Qi for the purpose of healing others. -- Best Regards, Jim Current beta is 3.65.04 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
