I don't know if this is related at all (probably not) but... if I
*paste* text to a pad other than the main pad, I can't be sure that
the text stays there. It stays in the main pad but not necessarily in
the other pads I've created. This is with version 2.11.02.

Well, I'm not actually a Win98 fan (nor a fan of anything which has
something to do with computers, operation systems or software) but I
can't do any better than that at the moment - my five year old laptop
with its huge 32 mb memory just isn't a good enough platform for
anything bigger... oops... I meant to say "better"... :)

I plan to make an investment in the near future, though (maybe next
year, or at least this decade) and get me a good computer and a
broadband connection too. Just deciding what to give up to finance it.

TF> No, I haven't had a freeze in neither 2.12 nor 3.01.33.

Good to know. So it isn't an OS thing either.

Sometimes I doubt that it has something to do with X-Ray... better do
some tests, but I haven't got the time right now.

TB! freezes here...

2004-10-16 Thread Pekka

Hello TBBETA,

After sending the message about the "pipe", The Bat! lost focus and
froze. I clicked like a maniac all over the screen but nothing
happened. No way out except ctrl+alt+del. Haven't had that one for a
while - it used to happen a lot with 2.12 and forced me to downgrade
to 2.11.something. From there I upgraded straight to 3.0.1.33 and see
the same thing happening again. If the same freezing happens with the
sending of this message, I probably have to go back to 2.11.

Anyone else seeing this happening?

OK, Thanks Marek, I thought it had something to do with the sorting
office.

I'm still trying to recover from the fact that in 1.xx versions the
decrypted messages were readily available (searchable) and now they
aren't.

How do you people do searches nowadays on folders full of encrypted
messages, with no decrypted versions in sight? Please, tell me.

I started to fiddle around, tried to modify a forward template (that's
why I asked the stupid question in the first place) into a "decrypt
and save all the original headers and created time and blah blah blah"
template but it didn't work.

I understand the need of encrypting messages but I don't understand
that my personal correspondence on my personal computer is kept secret
also for me, that is, I can't do searches.

How do you overcome this problem, fellows, or do you?

That strange box flashing...

2003-10-04 Thread Pekka

Hello TBBETA,

I delete most of my (mailing lists) mail after reading them, by
clicking the trash can icon. When doing that, every once in a while -
let's say one time out of twenty - a little box flashes in the middle
of the screen for too short a time for me to see if it actually says
anything. What is it? Has anyone else seen that? It's the same size
as, say, reading confirmation box but apparently it isn't that because
it disappears...

This started somewhere after 2.00 beta 1.

Can anyone confirm these bugs?

2003-06-07 Thread Pekka

Hello TBBETA,

Can anyone confirm these bugs:

Aborting or deleting task in the connection centre leads to access
violations. Also when changing the dial-up networking connection in the
network & administration box, the change only takes place/is seen on
the connection centre after re-starting TB!

Before beta 8, the account which was highlighted in the account tree
was automatically highlighted in the connection centre. This is no
longer the case.

The "ignore error messages and keep trying" (I don't remember the
exact words) still doesn't work, but now the manual option - clicking
the retry after failing connection doesn't work either! The CC just
hangs there without trying a new connection, and clicking abort leads
to... yes... access violation. Closing the CC causes TB! to crash, not
every time though...

Also, under certain circumstances, the text overlaps poorly -
sometimes when reading a message in preview pane using spacebar it
happens that one line is "missing" or only a small fragment of it is
visible. Makes fluent reading almost impossible. This happens only
when there's a horizontal scroll bar, so it's the scroll bar that
occasionally "eats" a line here and there. Not good. Of course I can
stretch the preview window wider (or use the richt text viewer) but
what if I have my reasons not to?

And yes, that Huge Grey Area when there's no message selected is a real
PITA :-(

This reminds me of an old bug. I also have sometimes problems
connecting - at least with one ISP. There's an option in the CC (in
the connection tab) to automatically retry after failure without error
messages, but it has never worked. True, no error message but also no
retry.

I reported this a couple of times when the CC was new but finally gave
up.

It would be nice if it worked :))
