Not if there is a better alternative, in your case that being not
upgrading to later versions.

Then you are fortunate in being able to influence your customers so
much.

We are at cross-purposes. If a company produces a product that
requires too much support, it will lose out - customers (whether they
be the IT department or end users) will go elsewhere. In your case
this has been accomplished by not upgrading to later versions.

To not consider your customers costs in using your product comes under

Help re blank subject in message

2006-04-14 Thread Xav
Hello TBBETA,

My PC hung last Monday or Tuesday while TB was running/collecting
messages and The Bat! now has a number of messages with blank
subject lines in the list window - they show correctly when the
message is opened. Some of the messages also seem to have the
received date shown incorrectly in the message list.

Any way I can repair this? (Beta 3.62.12)

  Many thanks.

OT: Query re installation

2005-09-12 Thread Xav
Hi,

For various reasons, I nuked my C drive and re-installed Windows. The
Bat folder is on the D drive.I thought I could just re-install over
this to recreate any registry entries etc., but it keeps trying to go
through a full re-installation, apparently not seeing the existing one.

Is there any way to do this?

Regards,

Xav

Oh, in addition I could not close the Bat as it kept saying that the
were actions in progress (whilsat it was trying to collect from the
one account) and i would not end these or close. Needed to use Task
Manager to kill it.

Mail collection with 3.5.35

2005-07-01 Thread Xav
Hello tbbeta,

I have a mail server collecting mail for three accounts, which I then
collect via POP3into the Bat.

In 3.5.30, clicking on the Getmail icon collected from just the active
account. I used the drop down menu for Get Mail for All.

In 3.5.35, the Getmail icon appears to collect for all accounts.
However, in collecting in either way (icon or menu) I find that one
account continually "hangs" on collection, eventually giving a
"collection failed" error message. I went back to 3.5.30 and this
error does not occur.

Upgraded on my laptop but have been busy with a lot of other things
and probably forgot on the main PC :-)) Although I think a later beta
screwed up here and so I "down-graded".

Hmmm, probably my perverse set-up :-)) I use email forwarding from a
domain registration service, which comes in to an email server on a
dedicated PC, which sorts the mail into particular accounts. I was/am using
PMMail
and this was the only way I could easily get mail for (whichever user)at
glenmere.com into the
approprate account mailbox. i.e. PMMail could only filter to folders
in one account, not to separate accounts.

Well you could apply this to some of the biggest companies, never mind
Ritlabs :-)) Just yesterday, as a for instance of how complex and
inter-related problems can be, I set a password in the bios of my
motherboard. Now, after entering the password, the SATA check takes
ages UNLESS I hit return - but nowhere on screen am I asked to. Look
at all the apps XP SP2 broke when issued. I have had trouble
installing OS/2 on identical systems from Compaq - one went fine, the
other never took.

I installed 3.5 over this 3.5.0.14 but continued to have the same
error. Plus there were two Bat entries in ADD/REMOVE programs. I
uninstalled both (keeping the data) then reinstalled 3.5 which seems
to be working OK.
