Well, most of my troubles have been solved with the Delete button for

Furthermore, until Cancel functionality is added the "OK" button
should be changed to "Close". "OK" implies that there's a "not OK"
alternative like the close ("X") button on the title bar or the Escape
key, both of which usually equate to Cancel.

I agree, this is irritating. IMO it would be better to disable the
other checkboxes when "Anywhere" is checked.  Plus, it's inconsistent;
checking "Headers" doesn't cause "Subject", "Sender" and "Recipient"

I really don't think ESC is sufficient. As I read it, Marek's report
simply requests the Cancel button as an alternative to ESC.

But maybe I'm dense. :(

In other words, I don't think TF's BT Report was a true duplicate of

Well, I was Monitoring, because I had added a note. And the bugtracker

This one, which was posted earlier by Marek Mikus, is still open. But

You have perfectly described the need in the full text of your post. I
100% agree with you.

I did not mean to imply that this function should be relegated to the
Wish List, when I posted "Me Too, add my wish to yours." Bad choice of
words, sorry.

To me this poor design is a bug. I had an exchange with 9Val about the
lack right after I got v. 3.0 and joined the beta testers.

I was referring to my need as "delete function and button." I said to
him, "but I should be able to delete it."

And 9Val replied, "Sure."

But nothing got done yet. I am willing to post this on BT as a bug, if
you agree that it is a good idea to do so and will support my report.

That is why I say Cancel _function_ and button. Writing the changes
immediately, and I'm very sorry I have to say this, only shows a poor
initial top level design. Even more because the Sorting Office is or can
be a quite complex "configuration dialog". However. I don't think it
should be that difficult to copy the account.srx file to a temp one when
the Sorting Office is opened and only write back the tem file to the
account.srx one when exiting with the OK button. The "only difficulty" I
see is that S.O. allows to change to another account with the drop down
list at the top, maybe that shouldn't be allowed or, if the user has
made any changes in one account, should be asked if he/she wants to save
the changes.

I don't know if thing are as simple as I see them, but I definitely
think a Cancel function/button _is_ needed and I find it quite annoying
that it may be considered just a feature request for the wish-list.
Aside of being a standard in any "configuration dialog", the actual
possible complexity of the Sorting Office (and perhaps the difficulty of
remember changes made) is another big reason to have a Cancel button.

There is new About screen text above all the credits in 3.0.2.1 that makes
this bug report redundant. I think the revised text may be related to the
'new' icons that are on their way. The text is multi-coloured rather then
black and now displays correctly on my PC, well almost. I've uploaded a
screenshot to the BT.

Cosmetic glitches in v3.01

2004-10-16 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello TBBETA,

As promised, here is the list. Some may be in the BT already, please
advise the URL if it is not mentioned in this list.

1: Statuts bar. My favourite, so I attached a screenshot (I hope 16K
will make it to the list - please ignore the floating Chinese
characters, crtl-shift is a toggle between EN and CH and crtl-shft-P
activates the screenshot). The new status bar does not "flush" with
the account tree for the simple reason that I cannot drag the left
border of the bar. I find it just plain ulgy and it hurts my sensitive
yes. It should be possible to drag that left border.

The right border (no screen shot provided) ends a centimeter or so
before the end of the screen (why not go all the way?) and shows a
down-arrow. When I click on that arrow, the log will be shown upwards
from there. I find that unintuitive.

2: Mail check freezer. Often (not always), TB is inaccessable after
the first mail check. alt-F4 cures that. It was reported earlier and
is not fixed.

3: Split modes. Still reverting to unwanted defaults instead of
remembering the user's settings.
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=0003002

4: "Support" missing from Alexander's function (Bug#3898)

5: Subject/TO field etc jumps (Bug#2456 - and Stefan wrote he is
working on it. Just thought I'd mention it.)

6: Font in Status bar. When I switch the interface language to Chinese
and then back, the font used in the status bar is wrong. TB needs to
be closed and reopened so that the normal font is used.

7: NFS: No cancel botton. If I play with some filters but then decide
not to go with it, I cannot Cancel. I have only OK and Help buttons.

8: Question marks in HTML messages. I reported this earlier, latest in
.

9: Search window: Anywhere ticks all. Well, as long as I really mean
"Anywhere", I don't care. But if I take the tickmark off Anywhere,
because I really mean "Headers", I have to take all other tickmarks
off manually. Please revert back to the previous behaviour of
Anywhere, where the other options wheren't automatically ticked.

10: Time in print template always used the 12-hour clock. Unless I
have overlooked something, I cannot print messages with the Date/Time
using the 24-hour clock, as I can in the message list.

11: Connection Center: When using dial-up and the number is busy, an
error dialog pops up before TB retires. This is fine. However, in
v1.x, the default button was "Abort", which made it easy for me to hit
Enter and then choose another DUN manually. Since v2.x, the default
button is Retry, which is stupid as I don't need to hit it ever - TB
retries by itself. Please change the default button in that error
dialog back to Abort.

That will take out the name. It will not take out the Condition boxes
and the other choices you've made. One-by-one those have to be done.

And, even then, my experience is that after you close and re-launch
Account/Sorting Office a line for that unwanted filter is in your list
and you have to delete it there, also!

I guess I don't know how to write clear English. So far nobody but
Miguel seems to understand what I would like to have.
