Educational Bat!

2003-09-02 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

I upgraded my personal license and received a registration key. Now the
license is shown as educational. Not that I care much about the
display, as I usually use X-Ray anyway. It's just that I'd like to get
what I paid for, i.e., a personal license.

On the other hand, the continuous beta-testing was certainly most
educational for me... ;-)

Cheers
Peter

Just learning the released program is enough for me! :-)

RAM use (was: Educational Bat!)

Hello Peter!

It may actually have to do with the message base size, really the
number of messages in the folders. I haven't the possibility to test
this through, but this hint from Allie a few days ago seems a good
idea.

I don't have many messages stored in TB and didn't have the RAM use
problem with the exception of a slowing down of my machine during mail
call with the last two or three betas.

PC much better, but still a few problems with IMAP and memory..

PM Too bad I can't test the IMAP part as none of my providers supports
PM it...

easily you could:) do like I did and get a free IMAP fastmail.fm

a guest account gives you:

40 MB bw/month
IMAP/Web access
45 day no activity period

PM As for memory: I only have 64 MB physical RAM, but I don't observe any
PM problems. Maybe it's because I'm using RAM-idle from tweaknow.com ...?

I have 256 megs, and I don't use any memory programs, but for you, win98
needs all the help it can getG

PC I can live with the icons, I don't get all wild about buttons, they just
PC serve a purpose:)

PM Some time ago I composed my own glyphs.bmp by taking the icons I liked
PM from several glyphs files. Perhaps I'm a bit conservative here, but I
PM like what I'm used to, so I'll stick to my more colorful icons. :o)

hey, whatever works for you!!
