I renamed account files with flb, his, and imc. Something there did the trick. Once it opened, I don't know if I have all the account info back in the properties part, but enough that I was able to get my mailboxes back, and be rid of all the old ones. So I guess I'm back in business. But I hope this fate doesn't befall some other poor soul. Thank you all for your suggestions and encouragement. -- Dwight A. (sure don't understand why file search didn't reveal it but that's not for here.) I have deleted it and still cannot restart successfully. When it comes up, all those accounts are still listed, and it's one of them where TB! is trying to start. I assume that some other or some others of the files in same neighborhood are the ones to delete to solve this problem, but I don't know where to start. Any suggestions, while PowerDesk is still in that folder? By the way, I finally managed to snap a quick photo and discern the AV error. PrtScn wouldn't work while the AV was showing before it was obscured by the Your App Died, Can We Signal MS pane. It is 007B7C33, and then the other one is just all zeros. Working well, so once I emptied the offending folders, I went ahead and deleted them. Now, I cannot open TB!. I get an AV right a way, apparently because the folder selected when I last left TB! is now a deleted folder. I can't seem to watch the AV pane long enough to get a number because I get the windows pane asking if I want to report the failure to MS. Have rebooted, and upgraded to .31, but am getting nowhere. It would seem that the dragging and dropping of folders in the tree leads to all sorts of bad effects. Since I know that I'm not really handling folders on my hard disk, I generally don't do those drag and drop operations unless I'm simply changing the folder order. I usually create a new subfolder, move the messages to the new subfolder and then delete the original. It would seem that my method is the one that's more tedious but less trouble free. IMAP - getting multiple copies of same folder in tree
Today, my troubles started out when I had a folder which was nested in another folder where it shouldn't have been. I tried to move it by changing its properties at fastmail. Suddenly I found myself with the nested folder, and two not nested folders by the same name. Each had 22 messages (the number they should have had). At fastmail, the folder has three messages. I fiddled with 'manage IMAP folders' and have managed to get down to one non-nested copy of the folder in the right place, although it has only three messages, the other 19 disappeared. (They aren't really very important, but I did drag them from one of the folders into a related common folder from my pre IMAP days. In the process, however, I have grown these multiple copies of several folders as demonstrated by the attachment. I am not sure quite what to do to shorten up my list, get rid of the dupes etc. I don't want to end up deleting all the messages somehow. I remember having a devil of a time once with POP folders and shortcuts where there were multiple copies then suddenly none because I guessed wrong about which to delete. The messages in my mailbox on my computer are a different number of messages than what exist in the fastmail mailboxes. In other words, some of my messages are disappearing on fastmail. I imagine there is also a bug here somewhere. -- Dwight A.
