Re[2]: Feature wish - edit subject line
On Thursday, October 21, 2004 it appears that Allie Martin wrote the following in regards to Feature wish - edit subject line: AM I'm not surprised that this would be the courts position on unsecured AM e-mail. The way to battle this problem wouldn't be to make it AM difficult for users to edit received mail. The way to battle it is AM through the use of PGP/SMIME. Tinker all you wish. However, the AM signature is broken in the process. So those who wish to secure their AM mail from tinkering fingers, sign them. This will leave all involved AM free to tinker with mail that doesn't really need securing, list AM traffic being one such mail flavour. Hi Allie. I don't disagree but then we have the problem of verifying incoming mail, i.e. this is what s/he said in response to my post etc. -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB!3.0.2.1, BayesIt! 0.7.3, Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 ICQ 41116329 Current beta is 3.0.2.1 Beta/1 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
Re[2]: Feature wish - edit subject line
Hello, DAC Why should one have to have another app to do what a good email client DAC should allow: ability to edit both subject and text of incoming DAC emails (as well as repair threads) I've had the need to edit a subject, date (when their clock was way off, in order to have proper chronological lists), and to attach a message (references) to thread. I've ran into threading issues a number of times when a person's email client doesn't support the references header, or if they replied to a message that was actually a new thread, or used a new message to follow up on an existing thread. Does anyone know if any of these things have been requested in Mantis yet? I did some preliminary searches and so far haven't found any, but I'd like to make sure so I don't add a duplicate request. -- James Funny quote: There are 10 types of people in the world. Hello Thomas, Sunday, October 17, 2004, 12:02:18 AM, you wrote: TF I am in favour of being able to edit incoming mails. However, this has TF been a matter of heated discussions before, most people are against TF this feature. I've known that most people here do not want this feature, but other people need it. So if developper don't plan to implement it, how about open more plugin API to enable us to create such a plugin which can modify subject line? Those who hate this feature can choose not to use this plugin. And we, who want to modify subject line, can get this feature. -- Best regards, drifthatmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Translator of Chinese The Bat! I've complained about the inability to *easily* edit emails before, I would like to see this enhancement, too. I suggest that something be added to the (usually not visible) header text indicating the original subject line. -- Best, M-K Using The Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The project of disciplining all the militia of the United States is as futile as it would be injurious, if it were capable of being carried into execution . . .
