TeamViewer, only the truth (Re[2]: Slow Mail Processing)
Hello Jens, I changed the subject, as I want to get out the truth about TeamViewer. I think, you talk about another program... Mine is bigger :) TeamViewer does not need any unusual open port, so any user can use it. That is the good point in it. It can go thru corporate firewalls. I tried this bevore, but it's disadvantage and the advantage of ShowMyPC is: No installation, even possible to start it from a webpage. The customer module of TV can be run also. But for me, if I cannot connect to a customer because their SSH port are closed, as is the case of your ShowMyPC (you said that it needs that open port), that is a big NO for a remote control program. Then that is only a toy. And (i don't remember in details) the netviewer didn't work for me in some cases, or caused problems in any way. I am talking about TeamViewer... I think, you talk about another program below. Just in case, I wrote answers if you really referred to TeamViewer. Ah, i found it: - they harried me with advertisements a lot Not for me, not for my customers. - they even sent out advertises with size over 1 Mb They dont ask for email... You download, install, that is all. How would they know your email??? - the application didn't start in 50% of my tries You are not talking about TeamViewer. I used it for ca. 500 support session, for ca. 250 different persons, companies. 100%! worked. Hello Jens, I can connect to your computer thru TeamViewer (www.teamviewer.com, you just have to install the client module, ShowMyPC.de is availiable in English and needs no installation at all - and is using VNC over SSH, works through NAT and (SSH open) Firewalls. Mine is bigger :) TeamViewer does not need any unusual open port, so any user can use it. That is the good point in it. All I did was re-import my address book from Outlook. I have been running TB and leaving my mail on the server then downloading/deleting with Outlook just to be safe. TB seems to be functioning normally now, but it did before as well. Somewhere along the line of installing new release versions, something must have corrupted the database and was not repairable. I will monitor this install, make very few changes and document the ones that I do, to see if it goes back to the snail mode it was in. If it goes south again, I certainly may take you up on your offer to assist.
