I think I remember someone asking a similar question and I think there was a thread of how to use attachment's extensions to filter on. I am everything but sure, it may have involved RegEx, which I have yet find something to do for me. In other words I do have a slight clue about them but am not an expert. The sensible thing to do would be to make a filter looking for file extensions that are dangerous. In this special case SCR (Windows screensavers) and PIF (DOS starters from Windows) are used. The filter should move the messages into a special folder instead of being deleted at once - or you could move them to Trash and create a colour group for them to spot them easier - so you can have a look at them if any legitimate mail was filtered. If not kill them, or better yet, delete the messages and kill the author. I am sure there is a way to filter on attachment's extensions, but don't know how, maybe with RegEx. - -- Dierk Haasis http://www.Write4U.de PGP keys available: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=SendMyPGPkeys The Bat 1.54/10e on Windows 95 4.0 67306684 C Never trust a woman who tells you her real age; if she tells you that, she'll tell you anything. TB! V1.54/10 - SPAM blank messages
Hello TBTechies. I have started getting SPAM msgs that are blank (text) with HTML links. No commonalities that I can find in the headers. The only thing they seem to have is each subject contains Re: (the rest is blank). I suspect a virus/trojan as each one of these msgs has attached files of different names. Examples: *_doc.pif *_doc.scr mp3.pif *_doc.scr mp3.scr *_doc.scr Any ideas how I can filter these out? TIA -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB! I *did* download some 1.54 betas but I don't use them because of some really serious bugs.
