Re: Fwd: Re: %Quotestyle question

2000-06-08 Thread Thomas Fernandez

The regexp would be "([a-zA-Z]*)@" and the match would end up in "\1".
I don't have any idea how to set this up in TB!.

There seems to be a problem. Usually, if the email address is in the
form [EMAIL PROTECTED], without any "real name", it works (with one
excpetion I haven't figured out yet: there I get the full email
address instead of jsut the 'local part').

If the original sender's "From" information is in the form "Firstname
Lastname [EMAIL PROTECTED]" I sometimes end up with "Firstname
Lastname" (without quotes) as the quotestyle, sometimes only with
"Lastname". How is this possible, since the inpout for the RegEx
shouldn't even know about the "real name" and only look in the email
address: %Regexpmatch='%OFromAddr'.

Thanks for help and cheers,

Thomas.

Re: Question and more

2000-06-08 Thread Nick

 Morning Nick,

Morning to you too

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean with this sentence. Please rephrase :)

Witch (where )are the account settings saved.

It usually should be. I wouldn't know why not. I don't use OE, but you
can
send me the offending message to see if there is any specific problem. Or
does this happen with every message?

It does that with every message I have tried. Btw Eudora doesn' t read them
too.

Once it's imported, the program will not know what the original name was.
How should it? Of course, the should be options to export it with the
name
of the subject/sender etc. but alas...

That 's one things they have to fix. Maybe in v2. (is v2 coming out soon?)

In the registry, look for Current_User/Software/Ritlabs/TheBat, and
look at ProtectAllowOpen, ProtectWarnOpen, and ProtectDisableOpen.

I have killed these warnings here too - I do look at the file
extension before I click onto anything, and I get many Word and Excel
files every day. I KNOW a .doc file can contain a virus, and I DON'T
run anything called Happy99.exe. Besides, it would be easy to just
rename the virus.

In normal cases, TB deletes its temporary files just like any
well-behaving Windows citizen... Maybe they are the remains of many
abnormal terminations.

If you don't like to worry about files cluttering your windows/temp
directory, you may want to put this somewhere in your startup
sequence (autoexec.bat if you use Win9x):
-8-CUT HERE--
@DelTree /Y C:\Windows\Temp
@MD C:\Windows\Temp

In the corresponding directory, usually The Bat!\mail\account name

.qtn - quick templates
.cfg - basic configuration
.log - log, you may delete it
.m_d .m_r - have no idea(*), anybody has? only some numbers in them.

(from a post by Christopher J Trybowski)

It does that with every message I have tried. Btw Eudora doesn' t read them

Possibly this is a problem with your installation... Or can somebody else
 reproduce it?

That 's one things they have to fix. Maybe in v2. (is v2 coming out soon?)

Betas are likely to come this year, but not the finished product.

Palm support?

2000-06-08 Thread Deryk Lister

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Hi all...
Anyone know of a program that will synchronise TB with a PalmOS
handheld? I know it's pretty unlikely (ok VERY unlikely) but it's
worth asking :)

The thought came when I saw a "Palm Conduit for Delphi" which would
allow the development of palm conduits in Delphi 5. Thought maybe a
better programmer than I, would know what the smeg that means :)

I keep thinking about looking at it, but don't know enough about TB
and actually have never written anything for the Palm either. However
I keep thinking about it so one of these days, if RIT doesn't do it,
there may be one out of sheer desperation. ;)
