Re: PGP-problems with TB
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello Thomas, I disagree. Ritlabs should offer a DLL with the correct version number, or even better: a DLL that finds the correct version number. Offering a DLL with a wrong version number is plainly wrong. I pretty much agree with that. Re: How do I filter against a date?
Hi, Thomas. Ok, perhaps it can be done this way: The filter becomes active after my server hits a certain date. That way, if the sender's computer has the wrong date, it won't affect the filter on my end. I guess what I'm looking for is a way to put in a filter that becomes active at a certain date/time, so I can put it in at the time of hire, instead of trying to remember it when his contract expires. By that is unreliable, as the sender's computer may be off (I sent mails from a computer in our branch office earlier this week, and only detected yesterday that they were all sent with date July 1 and July 2). The easier way is to a create a filter after that date, which will delete all incoming messages for John User. And the better way (from a management point of view) is keep the email address for another and monitor the incoming messages, forward them to the new staff for action and to inform the sender. ;-) -- Cheers, Thomas. Re[2]: IMAP and receiving all new messages automatically
Hi again! You know, most ISP suck one way or the other. I suggest that you get an account from a public site and ask them to forward your e-mail there (they shouldn't have trouble with that, actually they will love that you aren't using up their harddrive space). I.e. Yahoo! Mail can accept enough e-mails, then you can download from POP (that's what I'm doing), they have a small quota but it doesn't matter if you are downloading locally your e-mail on a regular basis. I think Hotmail also allows that. Nothing beats having e-mail locally, especiall for mail lists, it's great to do searches. Um, the problem is these folks don't work out of the office, and they access their e-mail by dial-up. Re: How do I filter against a date?
Hello Wayne, Historians believe that Friday, November 2, 2001 at 6:11 AM was when, Wayne Quigley [WQ] typed the following: WQ Ok, perhaps it can be done this way: The filter becomes active WQ after my server hits a certain date. That way, if the sender's WQ computer has the wrong date, it won't affect the filter on my WQ end. I guess what I'm looking for is a way to put in a filter WQ that becomes active at a certain date/time, so I can put it in WQ at the time of hire, instead of trying to remember it when his WQ contract expires. What exactly do you want the filter to do? If it's a fairly general task, then you can try to use some other tools to do the job. What I had in mind is this: 1. Put all expired addresses in a BlackBook address book group. 2. Use the Windows Scheduler program to add an address to the AB group when it expires. 3. Have your TB filter check all mail against the Black-book group. The second step can be done two ways. The first is to create an LDIF file for each person, then in your Windows scheduler, use the /Import command-line option to import it into the black book at the correct time/date. The second way is to use the command-line option to create a notification message to the disabled address. You can then create an outgoing (or incoming) filter to find these messages and add the address to the black book. If you like the methods above, let us know and we can help you work out the details. BTW, is there any reason why you can't use your server software to expire an address at a given time? -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal Using The Bat! 1.54/10 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A I have an imaginary friend who refuses to play with me. -- Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest Vers: 1.53d FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com
