Technically, since we use English and not Latin, the plural of virus
is viruses. In Latin, the plural of virus is NOT viri or virii. It is vira.
(It's irregular in that regard.)

Viri means "of the virus", "of the man", "the men", "Men!", "for
strength", or "by strength."

Virii does not exist in Latin (or English).

NB: There are many different translations of virus, vir, and vis, so
the above list is not comprehensive.

Especially when it's threaded correctly when you've played with it.

That's no bug. TB doesn't highlight msg-id's, but it highlights things
that could be valid URLs. Something with bagend.shire as domain can't
be correct, since there are no tld's containing more than four
letters.
It is possible that the confusion about the 'shire'-tld confuses TB's
threading, but that shouldn't be so. After all there's nothing in
RFC2822 that says that a msg-id should contain a valid domain.

What's slow for you? TB takes about 10 seconds to startup & display the
message count in all folders here (quite a task, I've got around 120 folders
in 7 accounts+common folders), with a total of ~150.000 messages (the
largest folder has 42.000 messages currently, and takes 6 seconds to display
when I first open it; later it takes around 2 seconds)...

MyGate & Bat! Content Type Header

2003-09-19 Thread John Phillips

Hi Bat! Fans,

What exactly is a "content type header"?

All the MyGate help file says is:-

"Default content-type for gated messages
If kludges of gated message do not contain header

Content-type: ...

it will be added with value that you specify. If you leave this box
empty, content-type header will not be added. "

Can someone explain this to me?

Incidentally, the screenshot on MyGate web site is for V.2.5, but only
2.4 seems to be available for download at this time?

Re: template to put copies to all recipients?

2003-09-19 Thread MAU
Hello Jurgen,

> is there a way to have a mail that goes to many recipients be copied into the
> respective folders of each recipient?

I do it with filters.

Consider three 3 addresses: A, B and C. And three folder FolderA,
FolderB and FolderC where you what to sort messages respectively.
Obviously, if a message has been sent to A and B you want to sort a copy
to FolderA and FoldrB. This is my set up:

Filter A: IF A is in Recipient
 Move from Inbox to Inbox
Copy to Folder A (Set in Actions tab)
Continue processing with other filters (Set in Options)
Filter B: IF B is in Recipient
 Move from Inbox to Inbox
 Copy to Folder B
  Continue processing with other filters
Filter C: IF C is in Recipient
 Move from Inbox to Inbox
 Copy to Folder C
  Continue processing with other filters
Filter Delete ABC: If A or B or C in Recipient (use Alternatives tab)
Delete the message (set in Actions tab).

Hope that is what you were asking for.

bug: message in php-general mailinglist not displayed - plus: finder

2003-09-19 Thread daniel hahler
Hallo all,

I posted to php-general mailing list, got a reply and replied again.
But my own reply gets not displayed in the mailing lists folder.

And when I do search the whole account for these mails, the Finder
results in "4 messages in 2 folders found", but only displays 2: my
original post in the mailing lists folder and in the Sent folder.

Although there should be at least 5 messages:
- original post (and Sent copy)
- Reply
- my own reply again (and copy in "Sent")

When I search explicitly in "Sent Items" both Sent items get found.
But when I include the php-general folder, only the first post (in 2
copies is displayed), but thebat says "4 messages found".

When I only search php-general it says "2 messages found", but
displays only one, which is my original post. There should be 3
messages, _if_ my second post (reply to reply) came through - because
it is not displayed in the php-general folder.
This is why I discovered this bug, as I thought the mail was lost -
and somehow it _is_.

anyone on php-general list? it's the topic "[PHP] multilanguage site:
performance question: included file with cases?".

I have searched for "performance question" in subject.

Not to be recommended. One of the major, and most reliable, ways to
identify the recent Klez virus was to look for the "Found to be clean"
header (in conjunction with words from the many possible subject
lines).

It has no use. TB doesn't filter on attachments or their names. It's
an often expressed wish, but not yet possible. TB's filtering engine
is supposed to be overhauled somewhere in the future and maybe it'll
be possible then.
As of now it has no use to filter on .exe, it'll only be triggered by
messages talking about a program, not by messages carrying one.
