Expanding or select all messages in a folder...

2004-08-20 Thread Thorvald Neumann
Hæ!

IIRC, there was an shortcut for expanding all messages in a folder. I
do not remember this one nor did I find the option in the menus.

BTW, is there also a command to select *all* messages without first
setting back the thread view mode to NONE?

Gerard,

Print Range is part of the standard Windows print dialog. In TB!, go
to Message - Print.

At that point the standard Windows dialog should pop up. In the lower
left corner is a box labeled, Print Range.

As Rick said this is fairly standard on all Windows print dialog
boxes. It is quite handy when you only want to print part of what
shows up in a message, or any document for that matter.

MAPI and white window - TB! not releasing control?

2004-08-20 Thread Maggie Meister
Hi Y'all,

A while back, I asked about a problem where some of my applications
freeze with white screens when I attempt to email from them - until
the email is sent. At that time I didn't get a response from anyone
here, so I'll try again. I've been in contact with the programmer of
one of the programs I use and have copied our interchange below.

MaggieIs the 'problem' on both sides? For instance, if there is
Maggiesomething small which can be tweaked for it to work from your side if
Maggiethey do such and such?

Possibly. From my recollection of the problems you described, the
main issue seems to be that when an application (Atlantis or
anything else) sends an email to the Bat using the MAPI calls, the
problem seems to be that the Bat does not return control to the
calling application until the email has actually been sent by the
user. This means that the calling application is locked up until
then. However, other email programs (such as Eudora and Outlook)
accept the email and return control to the calling application
straight away. The user is then free to edit/send/cancel the email
at their leisure whilst the calling application continues.

You could try sending the above paragraph to the Bat guys to see if they
 have any comments on it.

Also, when using MAPI to send these mails, it is necessary - for each
email - to type in a password. Is there a setting in TB! which permits
the password to stick?

Regards,
  Maggie

Have a nice day!

Stuart,

Ok, I was looking for a TB! dialog and expecting to have to make a new
print template.

This one I knew but never use. I also print the complete page I want.

Well, though it might very well be that Outlook etc mess up Follow-Up
headers, other mail clients do a *splendid* job of matching messages to
threads. One pretty perfect example (to me) is the Open Source, text mode
mail client mutt.
I'm on a music DSP mailing list where people with a lot of mail clients
post. mutt does a superb job of threading long after TB has given up, even
though the mailing list server inserts an annoying [music-dsp] into the
subject.
