Yup. Implemented nicely, IMO. Try Ctrl+Backspace

I've heard of it. That's about as far as my familiarity with it goes.
However, I've used another such client, SquirrelMail WebMail. They're
just webmail interfaces for accessing IMAP accounts not necessarily
running on the server running the webmail client.

Ok. This is a clue.

Yes. These sound like folder types that TB! cannot subscribe to.

Ok. Have you tried deleting the already existing folder after
moving/copying the messages to another folder, and then recreating a
new folder?

Odd. I've never created a folder in TB! and it looks different or that
I cannot remain subscribed to.

Maybe the folders don't have the permissions that allow TB! to
subscribe to them. Although if it's that problem, Horde shouldn't be
able to subscribe to those folders either.

I see from a later post that you use Horde IMP Webmail... what IMAP
server do you use?

Nonetheless, I think there is more than one problem at work here. TB!
IMAP filtering is unreliable and frequently fails to move messages (I
mostly use server-side filtering.) But I can't recall folders
disappearing... messages yes... folders no.

I see you are creating folders in INBOX... and recall some Linux
distributions not placing the inbox with an account's mail folders. I
vaguely recall having problems with this configuration (with TB!) and
used another client to create folders. What happens if you create
folders from account root, i.e. not in the INBOX? Also, have you tried
specifying the root folder in account preferences?

Another thought. Have you used Manage IMAP Folders, reset the folder
list and confirmed each subscription? And how do you specify the
folder name? TBOT, INBOX;TBOT or INBOX/TBOT etc? It may be worth
starting a shell session to see what TB! is doing server side.

Re: IMAP folders disappear (+ Horde/IMP IMAP)

2004-12-28 Thread ken green
> I'm having folders disappear.

[UPDATE]
I hope some of you are familiar with Horde/IMP webmail.

When I tried performing the "fix" process that I wrote about
originally (deleting "disappeared" folder through a webmail interface,
then re-creating it), I noticed that the folder that had the problem
looked different in the folder list viewed in Horde.

My TBOT folder had a small outgoing arrow icon. Most of the other
folders look like an Inbox tray icon. TBOT had that, plus an outgoing
arrow. This is the same icon used for INBOX.Draft, INBOX.Sent, and
INBOX.Trash (but not INBOX, which has its own icon). Also, sent-mail
and spam folders have this icon.

Upon further review, I noticed that there were two other folders that
also had the "special" icon. Lo and behold, these folders were not
showing up in The Bat either. And when I try to re-create the folder
in Horde, I get a "folder already exists" error. **(see below)

IIRC, the folders in question (with the outgoing icon) were created in
The Bat. It's possible they were created using the filter mechanism
"automatically create folder if necessary." I say possible because I
know I used this for *some* folders, but cannot be sure if I used this
option for the folders in question.

Anyway, I'm curious about this icon and why these folders are
different. It's obvious that this is related to the disappearing
folder act I've been experiencing, but I can't figure out what's going
on. Horde's help system is pretty sparse and doesn't mention the icons
at all.

Anyone familiar with Horde/IMP? Or what these icons could mean that
would cause them to disappear in The Bat?

** After deleting TBOT this last time, I tried empyting the Trash and
logging out of Horde. I logged back in and created a new TBOT folder
- regular icon!!

I will test this further and report back. However, I'd appreciate
anyone familiar with Horde and/or what I'm experiencing to offer any
feedback.

Thanks Allie. This has really been my only real problem with v3 (so
far). I did try using TB IMAP with a dial-up over the Christmas
holiday, and it choked. But it seemed to only choke on this account
(the one I use for lists) which has about 12K messages across 26
folders.

And it was a simple matter of Aborting all tasks with the account -
that is, no lock-up or anything. Not exactly ideal, but nowhere near
the nightmare IMAP problems of the past. I am on the beta list
watching IMAP develop, but don't have the time (or patience) to try
out the latest and greatest. I'm grateful to all of you who do.

It's something weird, i see the envelope ico and date, but 'from',
'to' and 'subject' are fade away. I hit click and the message shows
perfectly, but it's so tiresome hit random to find the message you are
looking for.

I'll take your advice, i'll try an earlier beta.

Thanks a lot ;)

Susanne, you had a good reply from Gerard. The latest you can upgrade
to for free is v. 2.12.00.

It was a pretty usable, stable version for me.

Here's the URL for the page from which you can download it, in case

Your v2 license works with every version of the v2 series.

The last stable release of the v2 series was version 2.12.00, this
version can be downloaded from the Ritlabs site.

Hi Susanne,

You can upgrade for free upto (but not including) version 3.
I would recommend the latest version 2.xx. I am not quite sure which on that is
.

All you need to reinstall TB! is a backup made with TB! and the mail with your
registration info and a version 2 install package

You simply reinstall TB and import the backup, point it to your registration
email and you are done.

Hi,

which version I can upgrade to for free (can't find that
info on the ritlabs website).

Mainly, I will have to reformat my hard drive, and I can't
find the download of the version I am currently running.
I have my registration information, but as far as I know I
should install the same version when
I re-install all my programs after the reformat.

If I upgrade now, before the re-format, I could then use
that version to reinstall the Bat...

I'm not quite sure my above mail explains what I mean
