Removing items from Instant Address Popup menu

2006-01-28 Thread Paul Meathrel
Hi all,

When creating a new message and entering items into the To: box an
auto-complete option appears. This allows me, I think, to select certain email
addresses which I've used before, or those which have "Add to Instant Address
Popup menu" option selected in the diary. Now there are some options in this
list I would like to remove and I can't find any obvious way of doing this -
does anyone know how to do this?

Changing font size in Windows Editor

2006-01-28 Thread Paul Meathrel
Hi all,

When I was composing the message I just sent to TBUDL I came across another
situation which I couldn't seem to resolve. Basically I am using the Windows
Plain text editor to create messages, my regular text font is set of Verdana
size 10. Now I wanted to copy the contents of my subject into the text of the
message, which I did by copying and pasting. However it came in in a smaller
size font, which is fine, however I can't seem to find any way to alter the
text size of this pasted text. In the end I just retyped it! Is there something
obvious I am missing here?

My best guess would be that the editor remembers the font, but as the
message format doesn't allow for different fonts, it would not have
been sent that way.
Try it again I'd say, but then save as draft and open the message
again. See have the fonts appear then.
I could try it myself of course, but I don't use the Windows editor.

When the drop down list opens, use the arrow keys (not the mouse) to
scroll to the desired address and then hit Delete key.

This works as you suggested, the font reverts to the default set in the
preferences when you save it and reopen it. Bit of a pain though - albeit a
minor one!

I can't see to get this to work. The option is still there the next time I
search for an address by typing into the TO: box. Does this work for you?

Yes, it does. I can delete addresses from the history list with no
problems.

A different issue. If you are using a beta, like it seems you are, I
suggest you report your problems in the TBBeta list because it could be
a problem only in the beta.

It's a bug. Consider reporting it.

eml attachment when forwarding mail from The Bat!

2006-01-28 Thread Bob Morris
G'day TBUDL Members,

My brother-in-law (who likes to play around with different e-mail
programs) has just sent me the following observation about the way in
which The Bat! forwards messages.

In The Bat! I can see the message normally, plus am able to open the
eml file which repeats the message complete with pictures.

In Mozilla Thunderbird I can open the message normally (although the
formatting is a bit scatty with pictures appended rather than being
in-line) and also see the pictures and the eml file as attachments.

If I try to open the eml file with Thunderbird the text content
(formatted in HTML) appears but all the pictures are just blank boxes
with red crosses just like when a remotely stored image is included in
a message. There appears to be picture attachments included but these
can neither be opened, viewed or saved.

I also tried PocoMail which could open the message normally as well as
being able to open the eml attachment (same as The Bat!).

I know that Outlook Express can view the eml file okay (I tested by
drag and drop), but I have no intention of setting it up to retrieve
mail from the server to see if it can read the original message
format.

Anyone got any idea why The Bat! is sending the extra eml file, and
what it is intended to accomplish other than to boost the size of the
message? I promised my B-I-L that I would ask the question for him.
