Wish: Two-rows for messages in Message List Pane like in MS Outlook useful in Horizontal split

2006-03-01 Thread Marek Mikus
Hello,
I have added this wish as https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5722, if
You are interested, please support.

In Horizontal split will be very useful to see messages in two rows, where
From and date will be on first row, Subject on second. MS Outlook allows
this and user coming from this app asking me about it.

Wish: Serching in mesgbases (messages.tbb) outside The Bat! and in backup files (TBK)

2006-03-01 Thread Marek Mikus
Hello,
I have added this wish as https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5719, if
You are interested, please support.

Msgbases grows and if has user thousands of messages in hundreds folders,
TB becomes slow and eats much memory when loading msgbases. These messages
are mainly archives of mailinglists and are used for searching only, so it
is not needed to have them accessible via TB's interface, they can be
stored on HDD or CD and TB will search them without loading them on start.
BTW if they are stored on CD, user must create folders in TB and assign
them to folders on CD to using them for searching.

And of course, it will be great to allow searching messages in TBK files
created by The Bat!.

Wish: Allow user to add user-defined headers as columns in Messages list pane

2006-03-01 Thread Marek Mikus
Hello,
I have added this wish as https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5720, if
You are interested, please support.

It is possible to create own headers in Preferences dialog, Message
headers section. This is very useful, but these headers can be visible in
Message header pane only, not in Messages list pane in appropriate
column. Please add option into Edit header field dialog, which will add
such header into View mode setup dialog, where will be user allowed to
define it for this view mode.

Wish: CC to always stay where it is

2006-03-01 Thread Curtis
Hi all,

While I can see the need for the CC to come to the front when a message
is sent, I really wish the mechanism that brings it into focus will put
it back where it was after the message is sent.

It's this singular annoyance that makes me not use the CC more often.
Whenever I send a message, it comes to the foreground and remains there.

It works just like the quick search toolbar in TB's main screen. Start
typing and TB will find the first match in your AB that contains the
character combination you typed, no matter whether it's in the name or
in the address, at the beginning or in the middle. It won't accept
combinations that are not present in your AB.
As far as I can see, it searches all contacts, but as I've got just
one AB I can't say anything about its behaviour with multiple AB's.

I hope not when using A4, as it is 29,something cm in height (note
here the ',' is used as a decimal separator).

Yeah, 210x297 or something like that - but it was fitting on the page
lengthwise ok, just not widthwise. Actually, it was The Bat! itself that set
the margins - and the margin it set for width was some insane number like 20cm.
I was the one that changed it to 3...

C I've tried adding %WRAPPED to the print template in Print Setup (on

There have been problems in beta's preceding this release. Apparently,
the issue hasn't been completely resolved.

I'm using v3.71 - so if %WRAPPED was working properly, that would have fixed my
problem?

They don't wrap on the screen (or when I printed it, though it makes sense I

They don't wrap on the screen (or when I printed it, though it makes
sense I suppose that if it didn't wrap on screen, it wouldn't wrap on
 paper).

Well, it depends what you mean by wrap. I have my emails set to hard wrap at
76 characters, so I have line breaks that force that. However, your emails
don't have hard wraps, they wrap at the edge of the screen. I presume this
is because you use the windows editor, which doesn't automatically insert
line breaks when it wraps a line.

However, not wrapping at all could mean that the line just goes on off the
edge of the page and you get a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the
screen. You have to use that horizontal scroll bar to see the end of the
line.

Oddly enough, most of the e-mail was wrapped fine - it was just
one particular part of the e-mail that wasn't wrapping.

Certainly I had no problem printing out your email, and my print template

My e-mail should have been fine - I have The Bat! set to wrap at about

Although it wraps at the edge of the page, I think because you are using the
Windows editor.

The e-mail I was trying to print was from Logitech tech support (I'm
