sure. and they render useless quite many things that were useful before.

for example, the sort indicator triangle in a field's grid header: it points
upwards when the sorting is downwards and vice-versa.

originally, that triangle's height should be at least 3 times its width. and,
when represented as such, it indicates what it has to: 'small' items on top and
'big' items at bottom (or vice-versa). just as does the triangle near the
volume slider on almost every home appliance that has one.

but, with their arrow-like (improved!!!(tm)) look it makes only mess in the
user's head.

Anyway, there's no such a bad thing which cannot be useful for
something.

For instance, I saw a metal computer case (midi size) used as a field
grill quite efficiently. (-:

Mass mail question - mail-list where members share an e-mail addr.

2006-03-09 Thread catch-all
Hello List.

  Set-up:
I maintain a mail-list and some of the members share an e-mail
address (couples, parents/children and so on).

  Question:
TB weeds out mails with duplicate addresses (and arbitrarily, it
seems to me) sending one mail to each unique address.
How can I send mass mail to all on the list?

  I'm using:

Now I'm really confused. The triangles in The Bat! seem to work in the
exact same way as they do in Windows Explorer (no arrows anywhere)...
The tip of the triangle always points to the smallest item in the
list.

Personally, I just click a couple of times until things are in the
right order.

An idea when TheBat! will be fixed to be able to answer mails coming from Outlook ?

2006-03-09 Thread Stephane Bouvard [ML]
Hi,

It do a long time that a bug in TheBat! make it really difficult to answer many
mails received from Outlook users...

Those users are using charset=windows-1258 (that's theire choice, it's
strange but not a fault), and TheBat! allways cut the last caracters of each
header line, including the reply-to: email address, meaning that everytime you
answer a mail, this mail is refused as the domain does not exist (of course)...

Did someone have an idea when TheBat! will become useable to reply to emails
and not only to make new one ? I think it's really a major bug in a core
functionality of a mail program, i was thinking this bug would be fixed in the
next release after a few days, but after many months the bug is still there...

Virtual folder filtered by hours

2006-03-09 Thread rich gregory

only those mssgs that are less than 72 hours old?

PO As it has been quite some moons ago since I used that one, have a
PO look at: [ your VF | Properties | Filter ] Do you have Age
PO available as filter condition? If so, configure it as Age is less
PO than 3 days. That should do the job.

I did look at the properties|filters screen but alas, no. There is no
AGE option there. :(

Reply wrapping

2006-03-09 Thread Larry Wing
I use Plain Text (windows) for Replies to email, as well as viewing text emails.

When I reply using Plain Text (Windows) occasionally a line will not have the
citation at the beginning. I assume it has to do with the sender's email but
is there a way to highlight the text and reformat with citation?

My previous email client had a feature that I could highlight text and reformat
and it would insert citations at the beginning of the line. I hope TheBat can
do the same, but haven't found a command to do it.

I don't have the missing citation with Micro plain text, but I prefer Windows
proportional fonts.

Thanks,
Larry

Sending to this list....

2006-03-09 Thread Larry Wing
When I send a message to this list the Connection Centre shows it being sent
through another ISP rather than the comcast.net address. While it appears to
be fine, I'm curious why that is and why it wouldn't be sent through the
comcast account.

I have this list's emails set up in it's own folder and all the properties seem
to be ok. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Larry
