Antisniper and checking on the server
Hello, For two days I had the free version of Antisniper and, this evening, downloaded the full trial version. If I select either of the first two checking on server options in the Servers/Edit section, TB! checks only 20 messages and then sticks. If I restart the connection it checks the next 20 and so on until the end when it completely gets stuck and does nothing. Even though it tells me that it's deleted, in the last case, 3 messages from the server (and they showed up on the log as being deleted), no messages were downloaded because of the final glitch. This happens with both the normal TB! and also Voyager. Oh yes, another little point. Even though I installed it for the first time today, instead of 30 days trial, it only says that I have 12 :-( -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.81.12 Beta with SpamPal & POP3 account and no Plug-ins | Windows XP (build 2600), version 5. 1 Service Pack 2 | F-Prot AV, Outpost Firewall Pro, Spysweeper, Adaware, SpyBot Holiday in France: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lazyhomes/holiday.html Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Mic, On Sun, 30 Jul 2006 you wrote in MC> I moved from Spampal (due to it's increasing uselessness) to K9 and MC> now onto AntispamSniper. Been using it about a month or so, I guess. I've just installed AntispamSniper on my Voyager set up and, if it goes well, will move from SpamPal and use it on my main TB! set up. Did you ever find a way to copy across the whitelists (all the lists, in fact) from SpamPal, as they aren't text files are they, so how are they copied, if at all? -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.81.12 Beta with SpamPal & POP3 account and no Plug-ins | Windows XP (build 2600), version 5. 1 Service Pack 2 | F-Prot AV, Outpost Firewall Pro, Spysweeper, Adaware, SpyBot Holiday in France: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lazyhomes/holiday.html Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

More efficient. Well, I installed it (trial commercial version) a couple of days ago. I still do have K9 for other mail-clients, but AntispamSniper does a rather good job until now. I did have 2 false positives (of which 1 message from Thomas Fernandez!), while I did not have even 1 false positive with K9. But, as mentioned above, marking as junk (or correcting a false positive) is easier than in K9. Moreover, mail handling seems to go quicker than through K9. So, unless problems should occur during evaluation, I think I will go for the commercial version. -- Best Wishes, Mark using The Bat! 3.81.12 Beta Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: Is Anyone Able to Send Korean Email?
Hello, fellow Bat-lovers. Thanks very much for your reply. After receiving it, I checked my original message again, and was puzzled to see that it no longer displayed hangeul, but just a string of boxes. Then I realized that I had been running NJStar Communicator when I viewed it the first time. So it appears that The Bat! still does not allow the viewing of Korean hangeul. Interesting, viewing it in the quote above, it displays natively as Cyrillic characters; with NJStar running, it displays garbage Chinese characters mixed with hangeul. Where did you find 7 Korean character sets? I only see 4 when viewing a message (EUC, ISO, Johab, and Mac)--none at all when composing a message. Assuming that ISO means ISO-2022, the first 3 are common encodings. Conspicuously missing, however, is KSC, which is very common, and standard. Is that one of the ones you have? -- Keith ...What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Using The Bat! 3.81.11 Beta under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 on a 2.4 GHZ Pentium IV with 512 MB.
