I'll fix that right away. That's related to the problem that I posted
on a different thread: that ThBat does not addressee-specific reply
template and instead defaults to the account rely template, where
there is a trailing space.

One of my folders is set to both remove old messages and to
compress on exit, the rest just to compress. The other folders do
not have any maximum number or age of messages set.

For comparison I had that folder set just to compress on exit and
the manual maintenance had the compress box ticked and the other
three blank.

The only thing I can think is that some folders may not be set to
compress on exit but I thought they all were. Does not explain the
"on exit" compression leaving some of the deleted messages behind
in folders that definitely should be compressed on exit, though.

That sounds like a smart move of Windows. I think it only takes so
long because the the USB stick isn't that fast. May that be?

No, I always use "Safely Remove". It takes a while (less than a
minute) after closing Voyager before Windows agrees.

Yes, just activate the AB in the restore routine.

In order to increase overall system performance, Windows often buffers
reads and writes. After a flurry of activity when closing The Bat!,
Windows probably waits a while for things to settle down before
committing the changes to the disk.

If you use the "Safely Remove Devices" applet, Windows will flush the
buffers immediately and (perhaps) allow you to remove the device
sooner.

As personal address book templates have precedence over all other
templates (including address book group templates) the only probable
reason for this behaviour is multiple entries for the same address.
Those other entries may be entries with the problem address as
secondary address and also entries in another address book group.
Remember that TB defaults its address book groups as 'hide items if
not explicitly selected', that means that when you're searching in the
root of the address book you won't find addresses in those groups.
The same happens when you've got addresses in multiple address books.

It sounds unkind, but nevertheless I suggest that you look again.
