Emulating Gmail Threading/Conversation
Hello, I notice that when new replies come into a thread, The Bat doesn't automatically push the entire thread to the top. This is so even when I sort messages according to "Received" time. This behaviour is typical if you use the gmail webinterface. It is very useful because not only you can see the threading, your attention is also brought to threads where *new* replies have been made to it as the message is pushed up to the top. When I use the default TB behaviour, I keep missing new replies to old threads - so much so that I now have a virtual folder that picks out messages that are less than a day old and displays them in the unthreaded form. So what counterintuitive, I would say. Does anyone have a way out of this? Thanks. -- Best regards, Kelvin mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

This allows your readers, when replying, to quote your text without the signature and list footers since everything below and including the sig delimiter is excluded when quoting. You can easily automate this process by including the sig delimiter in your templates. Even if you barely have a signature to speak of, that doesn't make any difference to whether or not you need a cut mark. Re: TB! still has negative image
Dear all, > How do we fight the negative image? > What is the best response? I'm new to this list, but let me give my opinion anyway. The first thing I would do is improve the communication with my user base - it seems to take one month on the average until the developers of The Bat! actually respond to support requests (my request has been waiting for 5 days without any boo or bah - which I find unacceptable considering I've paid for this thing). The same applies to communication with the world outside: the only posting on the forums I've seen from Ritlabs is one announcement about the newest version of The Bat!. With a communication strategy like that, it will be impossible to get any word out, about anything. TB! still has negative image
Today I posted a message in comp.lang.php about a php form question. It had to do with how mail client like TB or OE react to my form. To my horror and surprise, the first respons I got mentioned this: "Beware: TheBat! is well-known as a spammer's mailer (even if the spammers just fake headers from TheBat!) and it's often blocked." I know about that issue, but was alarmed that someone felt he had to warn me. How do we fight the negative image? What is the best response? -- Regards, Adriana. I've finally got it working, but only with version 3.63.2 beta. If I try any later versions I get the same dialogue box. At least I've got a working Voyager on a USB stick to take on holiday with me next week. Modern Linux distributions let you do as you please. For a typical home user, there's no point in using more than two partitions (/ and swap), and it makes it much easier to manage the system. -- < Jernej Simončič ><><><><>< http://deepthought.ena.si/ > In any household, junk accumulates to fill the space available for its storage. -- Boston's Irreversible Law of Clutter Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
