Moin, folks!

Who can explain to me what this option causes?

[x] Find text at caret position

I do not see any difference, if I enable/disable the checkbox.

Thanks in advance! :-)

Cheers!

Filter Help needed

2009-03-12 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping for some clarification re filter rules.

I would like to streamline emails generated on a website to different
accounts ( in my bat and external) depending on who works on them.
I set up some filter but I am afraid I have not fully understood the
way they should work in sequence.
My current set up is:

1) known _ if address book contains sender move to inbox known
2) subject contains skipped move to folder A
3) subject contains mail delivery or header contains mailer daemon
or text contains successful delivery notifications or text contains
fatal error move to Folder Bounce
4) text contains new address or text contains new account info
forward message to other email address A
5) recipient contains xyz forward to email address B

All filters are set to continue processing with other filters.

Should I use forward message to other email or redirect? What is the
difference? Does forward just mean a copy will be sent but the
original email is still going into the folder and then will be
processed by the next filter? My idea is to direct the emails to
whoever is working on them without creating duplicates or cluttering
the original mailbox. So if filter rule 3 is met, the journey ends in
folder Bounce but otherwise rule 4 should apply.

Hello Tom,

All filters are set to continue processing with other filters.

snipped

So if filter rule 3 is met, the journey ends in folder Bounce but
 otherwise rule 4 should apply.

You should then set filter 3 to NOT continue processing with other
filters

Great, it works for most mails! :-)

But then, it doesn't work for all mails. The mails that still

So I looked into content-type / charset: If it is UTF-8, it works.
TIS-620 does not. windows-874: negative.

Any further ideas will be appreciated.

No ideas, but have you tried switching between plain and rich text

Yes, this works for the problem that I stated originally, but creates
a new problem. In the address book, if I hit the sheet of paper with
the feather quill (Create a new message), the new message window
opens up, but only with the address on the first line. It did not make
any difference when I retained the comma at the end of the name on the
first line. So the best method is to create a second entry.

OK, if you have selected a name in your AB, don't click the 'sheet of
paper' icon. Instead, right click on the Name and from pop-up menu
select 'New message to' and you will see all (can be more than 2)
addresses for that Name and you can pick the one you wish.
