Re[2]: Ready made Spam filter
Hello Marcus, Thanks for those filters, I will almost certainly use them. What about all the foreign character rubbish I get? For example, I have several with subject lines as follows: [±¤°í]ÁÖ½ÄÅõÀÚÀÚ ½Ç½Ã°£ ÁÖ°¡¿¹ÃøÇÁ·Î±×·¥ ź»ý !! Each is slightly different but they are all unreadable. Ready made Spam filter
Does anyone have a ready made spam filter they could share? Are they importable? For a start, I would like to filter out all that foreign character rubbish that I cannot read...and there are a million other messages I want to avoid. I have already set up an address book called Spam and then a filter to avoid those addresses in future. But I think I need another to get rid of the obvious junk. Auto-reply - 2 step
I have online forms for a service I offer, where I receive an email with the following subject: Service xyz When I get such an email, I would like to move it to a folder called Service xyz and then auto-reply with a standard message, such as: Thank you for your enquiry. Which model were you interested in? They reply and we end up with a threaded discussion. The problem I see is that if they reply, they will then get another auto-reply email, because it is triggered by the subject Service xyz. Yet I only want this auto-reply on the first email. How can I do this with The Bat? Does anybody know a solution for this problem ? --- I recently converted from Outlook 98 to TB on NT4 (SP6). Hopefully, my experiences will prove helpful, but no guarantees! FWIW, I couldn't find a direct path to get my messages from Outlook to TB except by exporting each message (individually) from outlook and then importing those messages into TB. That said, there is a fairly-good indirect route. 1. In Outlook Express, import the messages from Outlook, then close Outlook Express. 2. In The Bat! use the Import Wizard to import the messages from Outlook Express. (Tools-Import Messages-Mailbox Import Wizard). Using this method, I imported over three thousand messages from Outlook to TB in just a few minutes (the longest part was the transfer between the MS products!) However, there is a problem if you're running multiple PST files. Outlook Express only finds the messages in your main PST file. Because of this, you cannot import messages that are in additional personal folders (PST files). The work-around here is to copy all your messages from the secondary PST files to your main PST file before doing the first import. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to get my contact lists from Outlook to TB, keeping email addresses, snailmail addresses, and telephone numbers intact. The most reliable method for me is to export as VCard from Outlook and import the VCard into TB as I need each address. However, that means that it will be some time before I can give the simple MAPI function over to TB -- because that prevents Outlook from starting and I need Outlook to retrieve my contact info. In all, this has not been an easy process. However, for me, the immunity from email viruses and web-bugs, the speed and flexibility make it worth while. Tried it and it works fine thanks. When I tried to import to Outlook Express 6 and then into TB, it loses the status of what is read and what is unread. I really don't want that.
