I don't think you can send a message written in RTF to the list. I did
that twice by mistake and they both came returned saying the "content
was not appropriate".

At first I didn't understand what was happening, but I then I figured
it out: it was not the content, it was the format.

Still Folder vs AB templates

2004-10-02 Thread Maria Cristina Ramos
Hello,

I've just noticed that since I've started using the AB templates, my
Identity option in Folder option doesn't work.

My proper name is Maria Cristina, but people normally call me
Cristina. However, I like to have my full name in the Account
properties because I use it very often (btw, it's not my full name at
all, I have 4 more surnames before the last one; we tend to exaggerate
 here in Portugal).

In my folders options for the TB lists, I changed my From Information
and Reply-to Information for Cristina Ramos (dropping Maria). That
way, when people answered my messages, they started with "Hello
Cristina". But now my From field shows "Maria Cristina Ramos" and I
started receiving messages with "Hello Maria".

I haven't changed my Identity options in those folders. Why do the AB
templates prevent this option to work? It's not a folder template
option; it's a folder option. And I'm inside the folder when I click
 reply.

This was a very clear explanation, thanks.

AM> If you're not always vigilant, these macros will get you eventually.

And I have seen that too often. And was preparing myself to fall in
that trap. I thought I was so clever and built lots and lots of folder
templates to several mailing lists precisely with that %To macro.
I used it in the New Message template because with the Reply the "to
address" is already there. But with the New Message I had to put the
address manually.

Fortunately I never fell in that trap of sending a PM to everyone.
Now I did what Marck and Roelof suggested: an AB group with my mailing
lists address. And it has a very obvious advantage: I don't have to
build n templates, one for each folder, one is enough for all.

You can't imagine how many Copying and Pasting I did to build those
folder templates :unreal2:

I tried to do that, but perhaps I used the macro wrongly (as I said, I'm not an
experienced user here).
This is how my New Messanger Macro looks like:

%ACCOUNT="puella"
Olá %ABTOFirstName,

  %CURSOR

Beijinhos,
 Cristina

"puella" is the name of the account I want to use.
But when I click the name of a member of the group and write a new message, the
default account is used, not the one I want.
What am I doing wrongly here?

Actually it was the opposite, I think. For example, in my Adress Book I have a group
called Family. I want to use a specific account whenever I write to this group members
(my default account is another one and I didn't want to change the account each time I
write to a member of this group).

New here, some questions.

2004-09-05 Thread Maria Cristina Ramos
Hi there,

I'm new to this list, but not to The Bat. Have been using it since always, I guess.

I have never had any kind of trouble with any of the versions. I have just upgraded to
version 3.
May be you can help me with 2 questions:

1 - I searched the list archive on smileys and I printed the "default.msl"
file, but I'm no expert and need some help in "translating" the file.
2 - Is there a way of assigning an account to use with an Addressbook Group or
individual person?

Printing selection

2000-06-05 Thread Maria Cristina Ramos

Hello TBUDL,

Is there a way to print selected text?
After selecting text, I choose Print but the Selection option is
always grayed. I couldn't find any help on Printing either.
