Hotmail/Live/Outlook accounts and The Bat!
Hello Tbudl, Is anyone out there using The Bat! with a Hotmail/Live/Outlook account and have it set up as an IMAP account? They never used to support IMAP, but they do now, or at least they are supposed to be. Seems to work, but very slowly. Also does The Bat! work with Exchange server? -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:scu...@mts.net Using The Bat! v6.1.8.3 (BETA) On Windows 7 6.1 Build #7601 Current version is 6.1.8 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

For example you would probably added your last name because the spell checker would not see it as being spelled correctly, so you would add it so it wasn't always underlined with the squiggly red line. -- Best regards, Stuartmailto:scu...@mts.net Using The Bat! v6.1.4 On Windows 7 6.1 Build #7601 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

(I do this for testing purposes). The POP account kept the whole thread together despite my missing message. The IMAP account which uses the same View mode split them into two threads. -- Best regards, Stuartmailto:scu...@mts.net Using The Bat! v6.0.4 On Windows 7 6.1 Build #7601 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

AM> I found it a bitter situation having to put TB! aside as my main client Yes I have been following your trials and tribulations with IMAP and miss your succinct explanations. AM> Ok. Good luck with it. My big problem at home is currently my inability to send replies or attachments. The only thing I changed, I think, is that I added a router. When I reply, if the message is a little too big, it times out and the message does not get sent. When I say a little too big, I'm talking the last message I sent to you would not go and I had to recreate the message in webmail, hence the reason it is not threaded properly. My guess is this message is already too big and I will have to do the same. If I had cut everything you said and just said thank you it probably would have gone. Any ideas. Anyone. I was right, it did not send. This is now coming from webmail and will not thread properly in pre alpha/beta versions. Ironically, and much to Miguel's chagrin, this will probably thread in the alpha/beta versions because of the much hated thread by Reference/Subject capability. :) -- Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.2.10 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

The other two RI> don't work. To get the quick search to work you first have to select a message in the list. In other words your main highlight has to be in the list area and not on the message itself or in the folder list. Once it is there if you start typing a box should pop up with the letter you just typed. The first message to match this letter will now be highlighted. As you continue typing the message selected will change to match what you are typing. In the latest beta, once the selection you are trying to find is typed if you push enter you will get a list of all matches only (much like the Alt+click method). -- Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.2.10 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Does your IMAP machine run all the time and constantly download messages or do you have to tell it do it manually? I'm a little reluctant to try this right now with IMAP in the state its in (in The Bat!). The current way I do things is working, but I was just wondering why I didn't seem to get the results I was after. As Roelof said, I can always delete the messages with Mail Dispatcher, which I love BTW. -- Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.2.10 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
