I upgraded my free version to 1.7.0.8 and got the similar message:
"Unable to save the settings".

In my situation the plugin pointed to a subfolder of the Bat but had
been installed in another directory. Changing that solved this.

Just a question, not directly to you, but isn't importing friendslists
into the antispam program quite redundant when you also have an adress
book in TB? I just thought that it might be nice if an antispam plugin
could access the AB and automatically whitelist the contacts.

In TB! Options/Preferences/Protection/Antispam I have "delete a message"
set at 70 and "move message" set at 60. "Out of 100 score" is set as
"average".

In AntiSpamSniper Filtering "Learn" and "Add" friends are both ticked.
White rules and DNSBL are left as set. I have a fairly extensive friends
list which I imported from SpamPal which I used before this programme. I
also have a good blackword list.

Under servers I have messages filtered by header then on client. It's a
lot slower but works - for me anyway ;-)

I don't have any other spam filtering system running on my PC and I've
been more than happy with this programme from day 1.

Hope that's some help for you.

Antispam plugin

2007-01-04 Thread Peter Kerekes

I used before Bayes Antispam Filter by Winkler.

This produced approx 10% of spam mail as good, but never any good mail as
 spam.

I read that a number of BAT users switched to AntiSpamSniper. I followed
the advise, but found that although it only had approx 2-3% spam mail as
good, but about the same proportion of good mail as spam. This is more
dangerous because I have to scrutinize the spam mail.

Actually we had a discussion over at tbot and some of the comments (from
Mary) I found as spam, even if tbot is shown at least twice on the friends
list. The same happened with others on the "Friends" list from other
 addresses.

Is there something I do wrong or is that how AntiSpamSniper generally
 behaves?
