How do I create the Junk Mail folder without using a plug-in?

2003-09-15 Thread Christian Dysthe
Hello ,

I was playing around with BayesIT and when it caught it's first spam
mail the "Junk Mail" folder was created. However, since I am running
Spamassassin on my mail server with bayesian filtering enabled I do
not need this plug-in. I have therefore set up SpamPal which gets rid
of the few runaway spam mail Spamassassin lets through. I want to
install The Bat! 2.0 on a couple of other machines with SpamPal, but
can't figure out how to create the Junk Mail folder without having a
spam plug-in do it. Am I missing something obvious?

If you want to move the messages that Spampal considers to be spam you have to
manually create a new folder and make a filter in the account where you want to have
it active.

This process is being described on the site of Spampal

http://www.spampal.org/usermanual/clients/bat/bat.html

it is self explanatory, for setting up the filter please look at point 3.4

hope this is of assistance

You can do it by creating a new folder called $JUNK$

This moderator's interjection is a note to all readers and not just to
the person being replied to, even if their post may have instigated
this reply. Please don't feel singled out Christian.

Please trim replies to context. Try to cut out as much of the original
text as possible in your replies so that your response is targeted to
specific items in the message you are replying to. You don't
necessarily need four layers of quoted material to respond to the last
comment made. A sure fire indicator that insufficient trimming has
been done is that the original signature and list footer remain in the
quoted text.

We have list archives for the purposes of being able to go back to
view the entire thread contents.

Thank you.

Create folder using $JUNK$ name.
There are also $QRNTN$ and $KNOWN$ for "special" folders.

Yes it was. Thanks! However, I would still like to know if it is
possible somehow to create the Junk Mail "System folder" with the red
cross somehow without having a plug-in do it.
