It is Ctrl-= on english keyboards

Yes. Most of the shortcuts posted to this list apply to standard
US-English keyboards. With the international flavour of this list,
keyboard shortcuts really should have a disclaimer referring to what keyboard
they are using.

Are you sure? In my Bat that shortcut designation is
  "Ctrl+Plus", same as auto-completion of address-book addresses.

I've also noticed that TB uses "Ctrl-Å" for "Navigation->Move
to next unread" in Folder View. The very nice letter Å is in
the Swedish alphabet of course, but I seriously doubt it can be
  found on English keyboards. :-)

Does TB somehow reflect what keyboard I use?

No keyboard shortcut, I'm afraid. You may try one of TB's neatest
tricks, however, by clicking on the "Message Flag" icon of a unread
message while holding down the ALT key to achieve the same effect.
Note the "Message Flag" icon (as it's called in then message column
adjustment dialog box) is not the little red "flag" (it's called
"Flagging" among message columns), but the little envelope icon
(which should be yellow, red, or blue for unread messages.

The same trick works for any other visible columns in the message
list. Try it and you'll see.
