If there isn't a specific reason you are using GPGshell, perhaps you will consider switching to PGP 8.0.2 freeware. It works like a charm in TB! and has a very friendly interface. I am especially impressed with the automated interface to the public key servers so it can look up keys automagically if I don't have them in my keyring. That's just SLICK! the only reason was that I got the idea (which might have been wrong) that the GNUpg was more up to date than the other one, OpenPGP (?). Wasn't that one 'new' only with some special builds that were not official or whatever? Well anyway. GNUpg seemed to be as capable as any other, only the installation I was warned would be more complicated. Somehow I got through that. The PGP 8.0.2 is freeware? I can only find it for 50 dollars? I haven't used PGP since v4, and this is very similar and very easy to use. I am impressed. I can also set the passphrase caching for hours so I only have to enter my passphrase once per email session. yeah I wish! -- Regards, Jurgen Housework is so wonderfully patient that it waits for you no matter HOW long you put if off. You should be able to verify the message in any client, provided there are no compatibility problems between it and your version of PGP. A digital signature in general does not really have anything specific to a particular email client. sounds all good. Now I am just wondering about something else... (I installed PGP some weeks back, but never really used it, after seeing that it works) Today I added %SIGNCOMPLETE to the template, and it signed my last message all right (as I now can see), but I asked me for the password I used to make the key. I will see (when I send this message here) if it will do that all the time. That would be a pain. ARGH, it DOES ask again. Is that the norm, or did I set some option wrong? -- Regards, Jurgen Housework is so wonderfully patient that it waits for you no matter HOW long you put if off. You may set a more long period for caching of your pass-phrase. Hi Jurgen, on Mon, 20 Oct 2003, at 16:24:47 local time (GMT +0200), you wrote: JH you mean I have to do that outside of TB, in the settings for the PG? I would expect that as i can choose GnuPG in Tools/OpenPGP/Choose version, the caching option in Tools/OpenPGP/Preferences should also work ... but it doesn't. The 'comment block' option does work, but the 'cache passphrase' does not. -- Rob using The Bat! 2.01 on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4 ~ Current version is 2.01 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
