Here's what I don't get, Peter. A "bug," at least to my way of
thinking, is essentially a *quirk* in a program.

For example, if someone is doing something (or has something on his
computer) that the programmer couldn't possibly have allowed/planned
for, the program might not work exactly as advertised, or it might not
work at all under those specific conditions, etc.

But Scheduler doesn't do just about *everything* that it's *supposed*
to do, so how can that just be a "bug"? It's like Scheduler was just
an rough draft add-on that isn't/wasn't ready for prime time yet. And
why there are no "work-arounds" for it, either.

So why even include it at all? I just don't get it.

Look, I love TB!, don't get me wrong. And I will wait patiently for
Rit-Labs to get Scheduler to work as advertised. But the thing I've
always loved most about it is, with the lone exception of Agent, it
has always been my most BOMB PROOF program, *very* stable, etc. I
never had to worry about stuff not working as advertised.

I can't say that anymore.

confirmed on Win98SE and TB! v2.00.6

confirmed again. TB! seems to forget whatever you enter in the
notification settings.

confirmed. Only "Actions -- Add -- Open linked documents" seems to
work.

Just guessing: A bug? If anyone knows a work around, I'd be interested
as well ...

Scheduler problems

2003-09-13 Thread Jack Morrison
Whenever I assign a sound file (.wav) to be played to alert me to a
scheduled event, all I get is the Reminder window/notification.

No sound whatsoever. No matter how I configure Notification
Parameters (I've tried every conceivable combination).

Additionally, I can't get programs (*any* program) to run when I
assign the event to the Action, etc.

Any ideas about why I'm only getting the Reminder window, and nothing
else?

I'm running vs 2.00.6

Thanks!
