Hi Marck, Historians believe that Monday, November 19, 2001 at 09:39 GMT + was when, Marck D Pearlstone [MP] typed the following: MP 5. (much easier) show the To and From columns in the message list use MPQuick Search to find an 'abc' sender message. Alt-Click the sender MPto filter the message list to show only these messages. Now Quick MPSearch for 'xyz' recipient messages. Alt-Click the recipient. MPVoila! a list of the messages you wanted. That's good, I use it all the time, yet I forgot about it. It even works if you move across folders. I suppose one of us should mention that to get back your full list, just hit the ESC key. That said, it would be nice to be able to do more complicated searches with the Find utility. -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal Using The Bat! 1.54/10 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A All science is either physics or stamp collecting. -- E. Search of two fields
Hi folks from 'TB!udl List', I like to search my Archive like this: Search the name 'abc' in the Sender field _and_ the name 'xyz' in the Recipient field Can this be done? If yes how must I specify the field names in the 'Search filed'? Hello Eddie, On Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 19:32 GMT +0100, a creature mimicking Eddie Castelli [EC] wrote: EC I like to search my Archive like this: EC Search the name 'abc' in the Sender field EC _and_ the name 'xyz' in the Recipient field EC Can this be done? If yes how must I specify the field names in the EC 'Search filed'? Unfortunately, it isn't easy within TB. There are a couple of options, none are ideal. 1. Create a filter with the desired criteria. Have it *copy* the found messages to a temporary folder. This solution is tedious, but it works. Also, be careful that you don't *move* your messages with the filter. That could lead to the loss of mail. 2. Create a regular expression to do the search. If you're comfortable with regular expressions, it isn't a bad option. However, for most searches it isn't worth the effort. 3. Do a search on one field, copy the search results to a temp folder then do another search on the second field, but this time search the contents of the temp folder. This one is pretty good, but still not as convenient as it should be. 4. Use an external program. People have reported that they really like a program called Mailbag Assistant for their archiving needs. I personally haven't used it, but I have yet to hear a negative comment about this program. The drawback of this solution is that the program isn't freeware. However, it does allow you to migrate between many different e-mail programs with ease (at least, that's what the marketing department says.) http://www.fookes.com/mailbag/index.html -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal Using The Bat! 1.54/10 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A I was the next door kid's imaginary friend. -- Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest Vers: 1.53d FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com

For someone who ran a busy campaign and got hundreds of emails a day it was vital.
