I'll check Google for opposing views. We might have to move to TBOT

All the links i have are in french, but a search on google with "electronic id
belgium" or "eid belgium" will give you plenty of links, even Bill Gates was
come in belgium for the official launch of this eid card (i think belgium is
one of the first country to adopt this card).

The only problem of TheBat is that it use the email address to automaticaly
select the certificate, it cannot select a certificate manualy, nor use a
certificate without email address... of course i cannot send my officiel ID

My problem is that i have an official national certificate : in Belgium, we now
have an electronic identity card, with an included certificate (wich need the
card, a card reader, a pin code,...). This certificate work well with Outlook,
but not with TheBat! : this certificate does not mention any email address
(this certificate authenticate my name, not my email address)... and TheBat!
only select the S/Mime certificate with the email address... so TheBat!
allways told me that i does'nt have any valid certificate for my address...

Those certificates are stil free - i ordered mine a few days ago. Should you
use Opera 8.0 as your browser, switch it's identifier to Mozilla and everything
should work fine (according to their customer support)...

We understand your plight. With regards to this rule on the lists, we
have in the past, and will continue to do so, make exceptions for
people who have no choice in the matter.

Don't worry about it. Now that we know where the ad is coming from you
aren't going to be penalized for it.

However, (you knew that was coming didn't you! ), to address
your S/MIME issue. I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is, but
if you'd like you can get a free personal e-mail certificate from

be just fine for use in TB. I don't quite recall the URL off the top
of my head but someone wrote a very nice tutorial detailing the
process step by step. I'm sure someone will chime in with it here
shortly.

I would like to sign my messages using S/MIME, but TB does not recognize my
official/legal certificate :( But it will not change anything, the add is
imposed by internal rules.

This posting violated the list rules regarding top posting.

Top posting, i.e., typing all your reply text at the top of your
message and following it with all quoted text below, is not
encouraged and we actually request that you not do so on this list
because

a) It makes it difficult to glean context from what you typed at the
   top of the message

and

b) It encourages excessive quoting.

We would much prefer if you quote just that much of the message to
which you're replying, so we know what it is you're referring to,
and then below the quotation, type your response. If you're
responding to more than one part of the original, then quote each
part separately and follow each part with your response.

Now, I know that you may not personally prefer this format and that
you may disagree with some of the reasoning here. We very much
respect this. However, this is the format that most of the active
members here prefer and all members are expected, and are being
asked to use the format that will make most of the active membership
here comfortable reading. You'll likely get a more responsive group
when you post using a style that is comfortable for them to read and
understand.

To find out why these MOD messages are posted to the list instead of
private mail, please read the welcome message you received when you

Thank you.

Please keep your entire signature under your signature delimiter.

Second, your second signature has a rather commercial nature, we tend
to actively discourage those, so if you add it yourself would you
refrain from doing so?
I realize that several ISPs and employers have those added by their
SMTP server, if that's the case you can keep them from appearing in
your message body by signing the message with PGP/MIME or S/MIME or by
sending it via your own mail server.

Hi,

I already have too much folders, i prefer my method... i prefer to group those
mails into only one folder, easy to archive every month and easy to backup. i
do not see the interest to use a VF when i do not need them... its enough
annoying that TB does not allow to create multiple POP3 into only one account,
i do not want to add more folders :)

There is a better solution for that. Create a VF (Virtual Folder) with a
threaded view mode and filter for 'any message' in Inbox and Sent Mail

TB 3.5 - Bug with view by thread

2005-05-15 Thread Stephane Bouvard [ML]
Hi,

I've upgraded to TB 3.5 (final), and i have a bug with threads :

I have a rule that move automaticaly every mail i send from the sended box to
the Inbox folder, so i directly can see my own messages threaded with mail to
whish i have reply.

Now, with TB 3.5, my messages are not automaticaly threaded anymore : when i
send a message, this message is well moved to the inbox, but appear at the top
of the list and not threaded anymore... i must leave the Inbox folder and come
back to see my mail correctly threaded...

Is it a way to fix that ?

Best regards...
