Not sure what this has to do with TB Hang... DDE file associations
have to do with CardScan files. I turned off Automatically Check
for Updates in FF but TB is still hanging about 50% of the time when
trying to launch web page within TB.

I had already taken the tickmark off HTM and HTML DDE after Jens'

Hello Thomas,

This is what you said on Wed, 8 Apr 2009 08:37:21 +0700 your time:

(by FF): When I click on a link in TB! and FF is not open yet, I get

Yes, this is a royal PITA. It is caused by FF checking for extension updates
on load...and finding one or more. I've been meaning to turn off auto
updating of extensions for this reason.

I've been pondering on which would be most aggravating: putting up with the
error or having to manually check for extension updates. But then if I think
about it, I can't count the the number of times that I've wanted to
literally 'boot' the PC after opening FF purposefully to do something
quickly but have instead been delayed by the annoying extension updates
window. So, for the sake of my blood pressure I think I'll just turn the
option off ;-)

Have done that now. I cannot close FF right now because of some

OK, unticked the DDE association for HTM and HTML. Then clicked on the
TBDUL Info link in the listfooter. Same error.

Played a bit, changed to another app and back to firefox,
closed/reopened Windows Explorer, and now I don't have that advanced
button any more. Instead, there is a REstore button, and clicking on
it results in the file type associated with another app.

JF There is a Freeware to handle this too, but i do not know where i

That's OK, I know how to use Windows Explorer. I guess the next sdtep
would be to delete the file types HTM and HTML and let Windows ask?

Well if you do get to the bottom of this, be sure to post it
somewhere prominent. Have a google and you'll see this all over the
place... with no sensible fix that I've come across.

Seems that registry hacks and re-installs seem to be the most common
fixes.

Best of luck!

Thomas, I have at the moment the same problem and it came I am sure as I fiddled
my system when trying to get TV via Internet. I managed that ok but I am sure it
cannot find my browser as it got reset to something else which I lost as I
uninstalled some of the programs. I tried to download IE8 but I cannot install
