Testing message sent from Becky (sorry for the new thread)

2002-03-24 Thread Melissa Rese

Hello,

This test is in regards to the Peculiar HTML display (v1.60) thread
I started. I'm sending this message from Becky email client.

I'm not going to sign this mesasge, so that I can see if the message
below (the one that showed up with all of the message missing except
for the first two lines of the PGP signature header). I'm not quite
sure what will happen here - or why - but I have to try and narrow
this down a bit.

Thanks for being patient with me.

Melissa

Okay... the plot thickens...

I sent that message from Becky, and again, all of the message below
the...

... is missing - when looking at it in both TB! and Becky. ack! What's
happening here?

I'm not using the RTV in TB!, but that doesn't really matter, as the
same display problem is happening in Becky.

I need to get outside and get away from this silly machine for a
while. If anyone can come up with some ideas, I'll be happy to hear
them. :-)

Thanks!

Except for the List trailer this is everything that arrive at this
 end.

This is becoming *very* interesting (albeit frustrating as well).

In the message that came back to me, the two peculiar characters
were missing completely - but I see that you got them (with the rest
of the message still missing for you too).

(I guess we'll see if what I've quoted from your message shows up
properly when I get it back)

Hello Melissa,

I've received all your messages Melissa, intact, and with good signatures.
I've used both Becky 2.0.0.10 and TB 1.60 and in each case there are no
irregularities. Strange happenings on your end for sure. One thing I do
note is that occasionally I see you using:

MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

and when that happens, I see funny characters at the bottom of my personal
signature when I try to PGP sign my message to the List. Seems TB inherits
the character set of the Senders message when creating a reply.

I think you are right... time to get outside for a while, which is exactly
where I am headed. ;o)

Yes, this is what it does unless you over ride this with a template
macro or setting.

If you're using a font with limited character support then this can be
a hindrance since your reply font changes to Courier New and you're
wondering what's up.
