[Texascavers] Help needed: Spanish verbs as adjectives in cave map

2017-10-16 Thread Ben Hutchins via Texascavers
I have a list of verbs that I want to use as adjectives for entrance names
on a cave map (for example, making them into 'ing' verbs), but from what I
can tell, not all verbs lend themselves to this. Looking for someone with a
mastery of Spanish to take a look at these verbs and suggest the best way
to make them into entrance names. Email me off the list serve if you are
able and willing to help.

Thanks much in advance!

Hey Bill,

I can help auction books. I recently went through my textbooks and sold
what I could. For my textbooks, I actually sold them to a used book
dealer. I used this site to compare sellers: https://bookscouter.com/
But, I'm also selling other stuff on eBay, such as old DVDs and some of
Patrick's clothes.

Let me know.

[Texascavers] SUCH A LONG TIME NOT TO BE THERE - SUCH A SHORT TIME TO BE THERE

2017-10-16 Thread Don Cooper via Texascavers
GREAT TCR! Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way!

Something I want any potential emergency respondents to have at hand for
next year: N 29.50898
and: W 098.90125
That's GPS coordinates for a good potential LZ in case anything happens to one
of us which may require rapid response.
Just about all of you know that 6 months ago, I in a very bad position to have
to wait an hour for EMS to show up. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even be
here to type this if I had. Luckily, it was only 10 minutes from the time I
dialed 911 until they found me at straightened me out!
Before I left Sunday, I stopped on the middle of the upper campground
turnaround - close to where the sauna and hottub were, and took a reading from
my GPS.
This morning I plugged those numbers into google - and zang! right there!

Re: [Texascavers] [TCR 2017 Success!]

2017-10-16 Thread Diana Tomchick via Texascavers
Yes, it was great seeing everybody and our dogs had a really fun time trying to
clean up all of the spilled food on the ground. Marley & Bandit gave TCR a big
paws up! They were still exhausted this morning, always a good sign of a fun
weekend.

Thanks to everyone that pitched in to help, sorry I didn’t have time this year
to pitch in—there’s always next year.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!

I didn’t want to harsh your mellow, on Saturday night, but 2017 was my last TCR
as Director. I did six TCRs. I’m sorry folks, it was fun, rewarding and an
adventure! My resignation is on a high point, I feel, with TCR is in good shape
with a head start on 2018, with a year to solve my absence.

The music was very very good!
The food was very very good! Great job!!
We had INTERNATIONAL Cavers visit from Mexico!
We had David Locklear!
The NSS represented!
The Texas Contingent represented!
The Aggies had a challenging Speleolympics course!
There was a REBELAY course!
We had a hot tub, sauna AND spring water!
There was a SLIDESHOW!
There were POWERWAGONS in service!
There was a HUGE board game.
There were barbarian Viking HOARDS!!
We had MUD GLADIATORS!!
There was schmoozing, I SAW IT!
People smiled!
What more can you ask for?
I’m happy!

Thank you

Logan,

Well, I’m open to that but we’ve already held the BOG in San Antonio twice in
the last six years and the BOG parties at my house (they all stayed off the
roof). In addition, San Antonio is already the center of the caving universe. I
figured we should give the Austin folks a chance since Houston has also
recently hosted the BOG. Now Austin may be of the opinion that the famous Buda
BOG meeting can’t be topped so why try (wish I had been there). But, the BOG
meeting does require some organizational and planning skills – do you think
Austin is up for that (Ok, I’ve thrown down the challenge LOL). Let’s see if
the UT Grotto rises to the bait.
