Re: [Texascavers] AMCS map indexing project

2019-03-10 Thread William R. Elliott
Lindsey,

Thanks for volunteering! Besides me, we now have 3 volunteers to index
Mexican cave maps:

Mark Minton will work on Oaxaca with me,
Andy Grubbs will do Tabasco, and
Lindsey Adamoski can have a state of her choice.

Just contact me off-list at speodes...@gmail.com and tell me which state or
area you are interested in. I can send you a more information about the
states and their cave maps if you wish.

I will set up an Excel spreadsheet for each person, sort of a starter kit
with all the known cave maps for the state with the fields we are using. It
may take me a week or so to get them all ready. But there's no rush in
this.

Many thanks,

*William R. (Bill) Elliott*

He is sedated and they did a dialysis to see if the kidneys can start working.
He is mostly asleep. It’s not getting better but it’s not getting worse that I

[Texascavers] Photo & Map Salons

2019-03-10 Thread Marvin Miller
Cavers,

I will be coordinating the photo and map salons at the TSA Spring
Convention. The convention website has links to the salon pages where you
can find submission rules.
https://www.cavetexas.org/events/TSASC/tsasc2019/
Please note for photos that we will be having a print salon only. There is
no need to bring a digital copy or submit a digital copy of your photo.
Pick out your best photos from the past year and submit them. It is easy to
get prints at Walgreens. Get your maps finished and printed. Let's have
some great salons!

Thanks,
Marvin Miller

contact me by email and I’ll send it to you.

There’s some great graphics outlining the extent of the various aquifers, and
even information about the various locations used for the sampling contained in
the paper and the supplemental information.

[Texascavers] useful info about the texascavers list

2019-03-10 Thread Logan
At the bottom of every post to this list, the webmaster has provided
helpful links to using the list. Topics include Help, Digesting, and
Archives searchable by e.g., Thread. I encourage everyone (like me) who
has not looked at it in awhile to do so.

The list is a primary form of communication for almost 1,000 (?) people,
including many who choose not to use Facebook, etc.

Thanks to our webmaster for providing the list with a low-key style.
