[ot_caving] world news - very bad
Just when you thought world news could not get any frickin worse, it does. A major world event happened today that will be studied in history books for hundreds of years. It will be equivalent to the Serbian teenager that assasinated Austria's prince in line to the thrown which inadvertently ignited the German aggressions of 1914 and 1915. Frickin Queen Elizabeth has knighted Salmon Rusdie and that is now history, and can't be undone. We need to start building bomb shelters all over the U.S. starting now. What a frickin nightmare. Who gives a rats ass whether someone is a knight or not? The Queen is telling the muslim world to their face that she not only supports Mr. Rushdie, but she and all of the English speaking world considers his description of the muslim culture as honorable or admirable. I fear for the next generation. [ot_caving] world news
It sometimes seems by the world news that everything is in chaos. Now the world must deal with the tragic news that Sarah Jessica Parker wore a gown that had been worn previously by 2 other women. [ot_caving] world news
According to various web news agencies, such as the New York Times, there is a news event concerning the karst region of Abkhazia. The Bush administration accused Russia of acting provocatively against Georgia by moving troops to the breakaway region of Abkhazia and shooting down a remotely piloted aerial vehicle, increasing the risk of armed confrontation. A White House spokeswoman, Dana Perino, urged Russia to restate its support for Georgia's sovereignty, and Georgia to show restraint. The number one cave on my list of caves to visit before I croak is in Abkhazia. http://www.mountain.ru/article/article_display1.php?article_id=2226 We need a cave like that near Houston. David Locklear P.S. Set your Google News personal preferences to include words that are of interest to you. I wish there were a news web-site where I could filter out news like Britney Spears, American Idol, topics of no interest, and also have the capability to archive articles I have already read, so that they don't keep popping up over and over. For example, I would like my internet news to bring me instant updates on the latest news of things that are important to me, such as LED headlamps, hybrid cars, cave related news, certain musical performers, major world breaking news. To me it is not news that "Hillary may or may not stay in race." - Give this to a friend: ot-subscr...@texascavers.com To unsubscribe, e-mail: ot-unsubscr...@texascavers.com For additional commands, e-mail: ot-h...@texascavers.com
