[Therion] Therion Tutorial Update - Data Structures and Layouts

2016-03-23 Thread Bruce Mutton
Yes, I think so.

What I had tried to do was combine several outputs into one file by doing
something like this:
select export select export
As I understand this now, this still would not work as I intended. But it would
generate two PDFs both containing both map1 an map2

Had a quick skim through your tutorial today, one thing stood out as
incorrect.

"Note that you can only use one select statement in a thconfig file, and it
does not matter where in the file you put it. I always put it at the top so
it is easy to spot. If you put in select statements for more than one map
then only one of them will be used."

We routinely use thconfig files with multiple select statements for maps
with the same projection.

All of the maps are produced in the resulting pdf (and other) files. As
with Therion's typical treatment of lists of drawn entities, the first map
listed is in the top layer of the pdf, and the last map is in the bottom
layer.

Thanks Bruce, I didn't know that. Last time I tried I was trying to
generate two different plan PDFs from one thconfig file, and found I got
the same PDF output. But I had not realised that multiple maps were being
included in that output.

What I had tried to do was combine several outputs into one file by doing
something like this:

select
export
select
export

As I understand this now, this still would not work as I intended. But it
would generate two PDFs both containing both map1 and map2 right?

[Therion] Therion Tutorial Update - Data Structures and Layouts

2016-03-15 Thread Footleg
Hi Martin,

Thanks for these points. Can you clarify what you mean by using right mouse
click when drawing scraps? I thought I covered the right-mouse menus for
setting line options. Was there something specific I've missed, or not
clear enough mention of context menus when drawing?

I'm not sure where group transparency is applied in the PDFs. I see
transparency working for overlying passages and for boulders drawn over
area fills. At least I see it in Sumatra and FoxIt readers, but not in
Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can you give examples of features where I can check
whether it is working?

Convert to curve is a good one. I'll find a place to add that in as I've
seen a few people struggle with drawing beziers directly when we run out
training courses.

Thanks,
Footleg
