[Therion] colour by map

2012-11-12 Thread Andrew Atkinson
On 5.3.9 on Debian wheezy (yes I should upgrade, but it is another thing
to do...)

colo[u]r-legend

Tried both color and colour

Does not seem to do anything

code tex-map
  \colorlegendfalse
endcode

Seems to work fine

thanks

Andrew

[Therion] colour by map

2012-11-07 Thread Bruce
Thanks Stacho

That works very well, down to multiple map levels as well, and layers!

Makes my 'Output Map Title Override' hack
http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/tex#overriding_data_supplied_by_theri
on_map_headers redundant.

You are just missing "-" in front of map-level. Sorry for the error message,
that is not clear.

select MiddleEarthPlanMap -map-level 1

Should do the trick. PDF layers should also work.

(This would be a useful feature - select a single primary map to enable
Therion to determine the overall output pdf title, but have the various
sub-maps coloured and labelled in the legend)

(And another thought, perhaps sub-maps would have their own pdf layers as
well??)

 Following the Therion Book I tried;

  select MiddleEarthPlanMap map-level 1

however with 5.3.10 this produces an error.

 "error -- thconfig-MiddleEarth.thc [32] -- unknown option -- map-level"

Can map-level be used in the way I described above?

What am I doing wrong with the select syntax above - Therion Book suggests
it should be OK?

 Thanks

[Therion] colour by map

2012-10-25 Thread Bruce
Ah ha

I thought that colour-legend had a different purpose, due to a test that I must
have performed badly in one of my first trials of Therion. Funny how
misconceptions can persist for years.

Perhaps the Therion Book could clarify that it applies only when map-fg is set
to altitude, map or scrap.

colo[u]r-legend ◃ turn on/off legend of map-fg colours when map-fg
is set to altitude, scrap or map (M, A)

Similar to Marco, I also have

map-fg date #survey or topo date

and

map-fg explo-date #passage exploration date

on my wish list.

2012-10-24 Thread Stacho Mudrak
Well, after trying to implement this feature I realized, that it already
works, but it is missing in therion book.

Try:

color-legend on|off

in your layout.

I am sorry for that.

[Therion] colour by map

2012-10-24 Thread Marco Corvi
thanks,
i did not look in the source (thlayout.h): sorry, my fault.

and can also color by the scraps.
i rather use a feature (layout command) than a hack (inserted tex/mpost code).

by the way, i wish color by survey date (topo-date) will be implemented soon.

now i tried the layout command (5.3.10): had some problems.

[Therion] colour by map

2012-10-20 Thread Andrew Atkinson
When you have coloured by map, in the header there Therion automatically
added a legend of what colours go with each map. Generally I do not find
this useful, but cannot find a way to turn it off, without doing a
\def\maplayout in code, which seems over the top. Is it possible to turn
off the map colour legend without resorting to code.
It would be very useful to be able to stitch this off without having to
redefine the header!
