[tw] Re: Hide Backstage
I tried what you have written but I am able to still see the Backstage area regardless of the username that I enter. If it would matter, this is not being used on the web but from a file location. The backstage is initialized when the document is loaded into the browser. Make sure that you reload the document after changing the username, in order for the proper showBackstage setting to take effect. In addition, is it possible that you have some other 'systemConfig' tiddler in your document that is also setting the showBackstage value? Try searching for 'backstage' in your document. If you find such a tiddler, and it is loaded after [[ConfigTweaks]] (plugins are initialized alphabetically, by tiddler title), then it's setting will supersede the one you are trying to apply. Re: Next Actions by priority
I use mgtd extensively for work too. I do something a little like Simon suggests. If a project has become so low priority that nobody seems to care about it, I sometimes make it someday/maybe. At some future review time, when it seems more important (perhaps because higher priority work has been done), I promote it to active, or leave it as someday/maybe. In the meantime, all the actions and subprojects are removed from my actions lists, making things clearer. Sometimes I put a tickler in the someday/maybe project, just to remind me to review the project, say in a month. Tickers are always work, even in s/m projects. You see them in the upcoming tickers dashboard and they trigger on the day. Or if my project is waiting on another department (for example, waiting on the network dept to make a large network change, which will take some time, perhaps months), I sometimes make my project someday/ maybe. All of the actions and subprojects are thus removed from my action lists. At weekly or monthly review time, I see that someday/ maybe project and remember to chase the department I am waiting on, promote the project to active or just leave it as s/m. On Nov 6, 3:42 am, Daniel Baird [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: This is not answering your direct question, but let me be a little presumptuous and suggest that you take 50% (or 75%) of your lowest priority projects, and move them all to Someday/Maybe. You're not gonna be working on them this week anyway, right? You're doing a weekly review of everything, so when a project becomes important, move it up. If you're worried that some projects will never get done, that's not a problem with your system, it's a problem with your workload -- you have too much work! Say no to some of your projects. Cutting your workload to a sane level feels bad that day, but really really good the next day and forever after :) Cheers ;Daniel On Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 1:58 AM, Javier Cuadrado [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi all ... Hi Hugo, MGTD is not any kind of calendar manager. With GTD, you are meant to use your diary for calendar items, or other external resource like Google calendar as some have suggested. I use the goto plugin as follows in my SideBar Contact :gotoTiddler search filter:.contact Thus it will only list as I type those with tiddlers tagged .contact, the search option allows me to search the text of all contacts if it is not found in the titles. I also Tag tiddlers with a contact name. I can then goto the contact and see all the tiddlers tagged with the contact using tagglyTagging. If you type the contact name (as a WikiWord) eg [[Tony Me]] in the tiddlers text you can go to the contact tiddler Tony Me and use the menu option to look at references and find all tiddlers in which Tony Me was mentioned. [tw] Re: Tables from Word to TW
The key is to put vertical bars (pipe symbols) before and after every table cell. I've successfully converted Word tables to TW format using the following not very sophisticated process in Word: 1. With the cursor in the table, use the command Convert table to text 2. When prompted for separate text with, click Other and then enter the pipe symbol (now the cells in each row of the table should be separated by vertical bars). 3. Search for the paragraph separator (^p) and replace it with |^p| (Now each line should begin and end with the vertical bar) 4. Add a | to the beginning of the very first line and remove the unnecessary | after the last line. Copy and paste the table into TW. cmari --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. if I remove the readOnly or change it to false then the backstage is no longer hidden That's because of the startup order; plugins are loaded before the backstage status is initialized.
