2009/8/1 Robert H. robert.huff...@gmail.com Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a Tiddler called MgtdSidebarExtra. And that name doesn't appear anywhere in the source. (I'm using 3.0 alpha r103230). I do have a Tiddler called TWSideBar. However, it's contents are just this: tiddler SideBarOptions tiddler SideBarTabs Neither of those Tiddlers seem to exist. I have MonkeyGTD 3.0 alpha r9843 and found the tiddler by going to the right hand side, select tab More..., select tab TW, select tab All and then scroll down until you locate MgtdSidebarExtra. - Erlend --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups GTD TiddlyWiki group. I want to make sure that they can burn these files to a CD and redistribute/sell them legally. [tw] Re: Stuck in 'read only mode'
Why can't i edit or modify the file if i view it in http? That's because TiddlyWiki is just a document - if that document is stored on a remote machine (i.e. web server), you need a script* for processing any inputs sent to the server: http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Read-Only_Mode (I'm aware this doesn't really explain the why, but I'm struggling to come up with a simple explanation of how local and remote access are very different scenarios.) -- F. * cf. http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Server-Side_Implementations --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. I guess you're talking TiddlyWeb... Could you point to some url of your implementation. Is that it: http://www.jonrobson.me.uk ? Also, would it be too much to ask on how you use it exactly? How do you deploy, edit content, set up recipies and bags... any version control, etc.?!? I am not asking for a complete tutorial... but if you could just sketch down a few quick lines with some detail I would be thrilled. Maybe post it in your blog and leave a message here? TaggedTemplateTweak doesn't really work for me here, as I heavily rely on tagging and lots of things in my blog are tagged rss and feasibly I could tag something in my rss feed or blog bag with comment. [tw] Tree menu - any concluding simple plugin?
Was there ever any conclusion on a plugin for a tree structured menu? Yes, I have seen the exciting discussions and development on the topic, and while the end results do look wonderful... it seems I must humbly admit that the whole procedure to actually install it is too difficult for a mere mortal TW user like myself (in spite of having used TW for a few years now). Is there simply no easy self contained plugin for this, like with most other TW plugins? No need for nice-looking-folder icons or such, just a simple tree menu where the branches expand/fold and where tiddlers are added by tagging them. The promising http://treeview.tiddlyspot.com/#TreeviewPluginPlugin2 has well meaning instructions but accessing jQuery libraries and inserting into MarkupPostBody etc is simply too demanding for me and average Joe. [tw] Better saving
I'm a fairly recent convert to TiddlyWiki, but I'm confused as to the options for saving. Difficulties: Firstly, at the moment I have save backups and autosave ticked in options but the first time I edit anything within a session I get an Internet Security message and have to tick the remember box. By the way I use Firefox (3.5.1 but happened with previous versions). Secondly an ugly yellow box appears top right with a further option to save (not sure what this does). Thirdly, multiple backup versions are saved whether needed or not. Ideally, my wiki should save tiddlers automatically when editing is completed or when the wiki is closed and produce a backup copy only when overtly requested. Is there any way to arrange this? Or a suitable plugin? I've tried searching for similar posts without success. [tw] Bug with SectionLinksPlugin 1.2.2 and headers with common trailing substrings.
Hi all: I have a 2.5.2 tw with sectionlinks 1.2.2 running under firefox 3.5.1 on windows XP. The links sometimes jump to the wrong section header. When using a tiddler like: = ! ThisHeader text ! Header text2 = a reference to ##Header will jump to ThisHeader and not to the Header section. Note the matching text must be a trailing substring (if ThisHeader is changed to HeaderThis it works as expected). Maybe the call to e.contains is matching the trailing string rather than matching the exact string? The wai I can see it working is to jump to first hit of e.contains if and only if there is no exact match. Otherwise jump to exact match. Using the following tiddler, I expect the first link to jump to the second header (Header), but it instead jumps to the first header ThisHeader. [tw] Getting started / cannot save / garbled text
Hello, I just found TiddlyWiki and I'm getting started, but am having trouble saving anything. After I try to save, and reopen the file, I get some garbled text like so: ';M={position:absolute,top:0,left:0,margin:0,border: 0,width:1px,height:1px,visibility:hidden};for(E in M){F.style[E] =M[E]}F.innerHTML=K;L.insertBefore (F,L.firstChild);H=F.firstChild,G=H.firstChild,I=H.nextSibling.firstChild.firstChild;this.doesNotAddBorder= (G.offsetTop!==5);this.doesAddBorderForTableAndCells= (I.offsetTop===5);H.style.overflow=hidden,H.style.position=relative This happens both on Firefox 3.5 and IE8. Just opening the empty file and hitting save causes the file to become corrupted like above. Hi Dave, Did you try saving by clicking on the Save to your local disk link in the lower left hand side of the TW? Also, the file seems to make some calls to outside sites (one to stat counter, another to an au site.) It might be that if you are offline these calls are making it hang up. [tw] Re: Is it possible to hide the line display in a table
Basically what i want to do is use a table or table structure to display info but i do not want the lines actually visible when i exit the tiddler edit mode. First, define a custom classname called 'borderless' in your document's StyleSheet tiddler: .borderless table, borderless tr, borderless td { border:0; } Then, assign the borderless classname to the desired table, by adding an initial row that uses the 'k' suffix, like this: |borderless|k Note: the 'borderless' class definition as well as many other convenient CSS formatting 'shortcuts' can be found here: http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#StyleSheetShortcuts To use these shortcut class definitions in your own document, you can either copy/paste the desired CSS syntax directly into your StyleSheet; or, you can simply import the entire StyleSheetShortcuts tiddler into your document, and then just add this line to your StyleSheet: [[StyleSheetShortcuts]] (including the brackets) enjoy, -e Eric Shulman TiddlyTools / ELS Design Studios --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Small tiddlytools.com SplitTiddler bug
Hi all: I am using http://www.tiddlytools.com/#SplitTiddler version 1.6.0 and there seems to be a bit of a bug. There is an off by one errors causing the wrong split criteria to be selected. The 1.6.0 code reads: var parts=[]; if (f.splitby[0].checked) { /* chars */ for (var i=0; isrc.length; i+=f.charcount.value) parts.push(src.substr(i,f.charcount.value)); } else if (f.splitby[1].checked) { /* lines */ but it should be: var parts=[]; if (f.splitby[1].checked) { /* chars */ for (var i=0; isrc.length; i+=f.charcount.value) parts.push(src.substr(i,f.charcount.value)); } else if (f.splitby[2].checked) { /* lines */ This fix works for me. -- rouilj --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: Bug with SectionLinksPlugin 1.2.2 and headers with common trailing substrings.
I have a 2.5.2 tw with sectionlinks 1.2.2 running under firefox 3.5.1 on windows XP. The links sometimes jump to the wrong section header. Maybe the call to e.contains is matching the trailing string rather than matching the exact string? I claim this is a bug. If it's a feature then I totally missed the documention of said feature 8-). Actually, it's an unintended a side-effect of using a simple 'indexOf ()' comparison to find the matching header text, which worked just fine as long as there was a *unique* substring match for each header. However, as you've noted, if there are both an exact and a substring match, then first matching header in the tiddler would be used, even if it was not the exact match. To address this, I've updated the plugin logic to try *three* different kinds of criteria for finding the correct header: 1) exact match 2) starts with 3) contains Also note that, when matching header text, any leading/trailing whitespace in that text is ignored when comparing to the 'target' section name. Thus, ! Foobar and !Foobar are considered to be identical headers, and both will match a section link to [[here##Foobar]] (which results in the first of the two headers being used). [tw] ANNOUNCING Tahoe, the Lofty-Atmospheric Filesystem, v1.5
Dear people of the TiddlyWiki group: There exists a plugin (thanks to FND, Eric Shulman, and Jeremy Ruston for helping me write it) which allows you to store your TiddlyWiki directly to a Tahoe-LAFS grid. I think that's awesome. Anyway, we're announcing v1.5 of Tahoe-LAFS. It's basically the only secure cloud storage system, in my opinion. Check it out. Regards, Zooko The Tahoe-LAFS team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 1.5 of Tahoe, the Lofty Atmospheric File System. Tahoe-LAFS is the first cloud storage technology which offers security and privacy in the sense that the cloud storage service provider itself can't read or alter your data. Here is the one-page explanation of its unique security and fault-tolerance properties: http://allmydata.org/source/tahoe/trunk/docs/about.html This release is the successor to v1.4.1, which was released April 13, 2009 [1]. This is a major new release, improving the user interface and performance and fixing a few bugs, and adding ports to OpenBSD, NetBSD, ArchLinux, NixOS, and embedded systems built on ARM CPUs. See the NEWS file [2] for more information. In addition to the functionality of Tahoe-LAFS itself, a crop of related projects have sprung up to extend it and to integrate it into operating systems and applications. These include frontends for Windows, Macintosh, JavaScript, and iPhone, and plugins for duplicity, bzr, Hadoop, and TiddlyWiki, and more. See the Related Projects page on the wiki [3]. COMPATIBILITY Version 1.5 is fully compatible with the version 1 series of Tahoe-LAFS. Files written by v1.5 clients can be read by clients of all versions back to v1.0. v1.5 clients can read files produced by clients of all versions since v1.0. v1.5 servers can serve clients of all versions back to v1.0 and v1.5 clients can use servers of all versions back to v1.0. This is the sixth release in the version 1 series. The version 1 series of Tahoe-LAFS will be actively supported and maintained for the forseeable future, and future versions of Tahoe-LAFS will retain the ability to read and write files compatible with Tahoe-LAFS v1. The version 1 series of Tahoe-LAFS is the basis of the consumer backup product from Allmydata, Inc. -- http://allmydata.com . WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? With Tahoe-LAFS, you can distribute your filesystem across a set of servers, such that if some of them fail or even turn out to be malicious, the entire filesystem continues to be available. You can share your files with other users, using a simple and flexible access control scheme. We believe that the combination of erasure coding, strong encryption, Free/Open Source Software and careful engineering make Tahoe-LAFS safer than RAID, removable drive, tape, on-line backup or other Cloud storage systems. This software comes with extensive tests, and there are no known security flaws which would compromise confidentiality or data integrity in typical use. (For all currently known issues please see the known_issues.txt file [4].) LICENCE You may use this package under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or, at your option, any later version. See the file COPYING.GPL [5] for the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2. You may use this package under the Transitive Grace Period Public Licence, version 1 or, at your option, any later version. (The Transitive Grace Period Public Licence has requirements similar to the GPL except that it allows you to wait for up to twelve months after you redistribute a derived work before releasing the source code of your derived work.) See the file COPYING.TGPPL.html [6] for the terms of the Transitive Grace Period Public Licence, version 1. (You may choose to use this package under the terms of either licence, at your option.) INSTALLATION Tahoe-LAFS works on Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, Cygwin, Solaris, *BSD, and probably most other systems. Start with docs/install.html [7]. HACKING AND COMMUNITY Please join us on the mailing list [8]. Patches are gratefully accepted -- the RoadMap page [9] shows the next improvements that we plan to make and CREDITS [10] lists the names of people who've contributed to the project. The Dev page [11] contains resources for hackers. SPONSORSHIP Tahoe-LAFS was originally developed thanks to the sponsorship of Allmydata, Inc. [12], a provider of commercial backup services. Allmydata, Inc. created the Tahoe-LAFS project and contributed hardware, software, ideas, bug reports, suggestions, demands, and money (employing several Tahoe-LAFS hackers and instructing them to spend part of their work time on this Free Software project). Also they awarded customized t-shirts to hackers who found security flaws in Tahoe-LAFS (see http://hacktahoe.org ). After discontinuing funding of Tahoe-LAFS RD in early 2009, Allmydata, Inc. has continued to provide servers, co-lo space and bandwidth to the open source project. Thank you to Allmydata, Inc. for their generous and

[tw] SaveAsPlugin rss feed produces list in alphabetic and not date sorted order??
Hi all: I am using the NewsFeed/RSS writing function of the SaveAs plugin from http://www.tiddlytools.com/#SaveAsPlugin version 2.5.2. When I compare an xml file created by the plugin against the rss feed produced by the native rss mechanism. The native mechanism seems to sort the entries in published/last change date order while the SaveAsPlugin output is alphabetically sorted. The spec for RSS doesn't seem to specify the order, but in my case I am reading it with the RSSReaderPlugin from http://tiddlywiki.bidix.info/#RSSReaderPlugin and it doesn't sort either which makes the rss feed kind of useless for telling which entries have changed. I assume it was expecting the rss feeed to be sorted by last published date. Also if I use the ExportTiddlersPlugin rss feed mechanism they are date sorted, but I think that is because I sort the list by date before I do the export so Does anybody have a versin of RSSReaderPlugin that sorts the rss feed by date? Alternatively Eric, could I pester you some more to sort the xml rss output by date. I can't see any reason that the data shouldn't be sorted by last modified/pubDate. Also if it is easy to add to the code, an option to limit the number of tiddlers written to the rss file would be useful as well. Assuming it is date sorted, and writing starts from the newest tiddler, being able to specify any of: Total number of tiddlers to write A cutoff date so no tiddlers older than that date will be written A relative number of days in the past to write (basically a cutoff date of today - number of days) would be a great addition.
