[tw] browser versions
is there a way to determine what browser versions TW5 won't work with due to the levels of JS and CSS used? i have found sites like caniuse.com that let you drill down by feature, but i'm not sure what level of materials are being used in TW5. i ask because it seems the perfect way to create some non-linear reference materials to distribute as apps for use on phones or tablets, but i have already found that older phones don't like some of the script. i'd like to be able to warn users that they version X for safari, Y for firefox, etc. thanks, much -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Hi, I am new here and very much enjoying my journey of discovery into everything Tiddly these past few weeks! Great job everyone! I too prefer the KaTex over the other considered options and hope to incorporate that into a TiddlyWiki design I am working on. This seems to be the case but want to be sure? and 2) I am now aware of several TW5.X compatible plugins and customizations from googling but in these searches the vast majority returned are 2.X is there an un/official listing of just TW5.X plugins resources and customizations? Re: [tw] Re: Announcing TiddlyWiki 5.1.1
Hi Ed, great to see new people enjoying TiddlyWiki. To answer your questions: 1) Yes, empty is very literally an empty wiki, containing only the core. So to install the KaTeX plugin, you can grab it from http://tiddlywiki.com/plugins/tiddlywiki/katex/ 2) It is true that often times google search result show plugins for TW classic. And it is also true that (in my opinion) there currently is no comprehensive list for plugins (which is also due to the very nature of the TW community). A good start however is the community link list on the official tiddlywiki.com site where there are quite a lot of useful links: http://tiddlywiki.com/#Community I hope some of that is helpful to you, /Andreas Am 23.09.2014 13:49, schrieb Ed Dixon: Hi, I am new here and very much enjoying my journey of discovery into everything Tiddly these past few weeks! [tw] Trivial color choice bug in TW5.1
Using the darker palettes with black backgrounds, specifically Rocker and Contrast, there are a couple of issues that may need to be addressed. 1. The hover color for many of the buttons/tools/whatever is black which when using Rocker and Contrast renders the buttons invisible when you hover over them. While the buttons are still functional, it can be disconcerting. 2. Perhaps more important is what happens when you change the theme to either Seamless or Sticky. Both of them still carry the tag $:/tags/stylesheet and give the warning that these references should be changed to $:/tags/Stylesheet. Most of the warning message is in either dark grey or black. If you were using the Rocker or Contrast palette when you switched to either of these themes, then most of the warning message is functionally invisible. The tags should be changed in some future release and I would like everything to be clearly visible against any standard background color. On a vaguely related note: is this the right way to be reporting observations like this or should I be using a different venue? [tw] tw 5.1.1 and installing plugins, languages and selecting/deselecting all tiddlers
Hi Jeremy and all, Just played a little bit with tw 5.1.1. and i actually found a pretty useful idea for tw. So i thought i might install TiddlyClip. Unfortunately you need to install a plugin into the wiki. I guess we need to solve that kind of plugin and language installation thing. if its just one tiddler i guess its not such a problem. after we have added a select/deselect all tiddlers checkbox in the header where you currently find the word select. but when the plugin bases off of not just one tiddler then finding the right ones to import might be difficult. especially when some people are giving their tiddlers for the plugins funky names. what do you think about this? or have you a better idea? greetings, simon --- Diese E-Mail ist frei von Viren und Malware, denn der avast! [tw] Re: TW5 - can't figure this transclusion/macro problem...
You are right! I overlooked that macrocall and ... are not identical. The documentation supports what you say under the MacroCallWidget tiddler: *The advantage of the widget form is that it allows macro parameters to be specified as widget attributes, thus allowing indirection and macro values to be set* Thanks again. The only thing that still seems weird about this form of indirection is that now the field holds the index of the dataTiddler (or dictionary), which just look like regular data. The {{}} transclusion syntax was making it clearer in my mind that the content was derived from elsewhere, maybe escaping it with ~ if what I really want is the text with the actual curly braces. Re: [tw] TiddlyWiki 10th Anniversary Hangout on Saturday 20th September at 4pm
But of course and it would even be relatively easy to just find and post the bits and pieces. Hoever, I've created a (temporary) mess in my attempts to follow what I think are Jeremy's views on MicroContent. Effectively, I created a lot of little snippets that are $taged, $listed, and $tranclude(d). The end result is that everything is very much out of (any meaningful) context, unless the whole file is made available. (I was enjoying the Event, so I carelessly used one of my larger, production files.) The only good news is that I at least haven't lost anything and should be able to incorporate it into the documentation I'm hoping to produce, Cheers -- Hans On Tuesday, September 23, 2014 4:54:31 PM UTC-4, David Gifford wrote: Hans, couldn't you find those tiddlers by reviewing the timeline within the range of time you edited those tiddlers? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: Announcing TiddlyWiki 5.1.1
Hi I'm a heavy user of TW5 with MathJax and I'm comparing it with KaTeX, doing some conversions when they are possible. However, a very annoying problem surfaced. Example: if I wright TeX instead of LaTeX (which is fine for mathjax) $${ 1+2+3+4+5 \over r+t+y+u}$$ de KaTeX plugins finds a parsing error Error: KaTeX parse error: Expected '}', got '\over' at position 17: 1+2+3+4+5 \over̲ r+t+y+u}$ and forces de user to refresh. But, since tiddlyfox autosaves the tiddler before LaTeX parsing, the refreshed file still get the parsing error and does'n allow editing of that tiddler. Then I have to correct de comprimised tiddler in the file with a raw text editor. With no autosave I refresh and just loose the changes which is also inconvenient. Conclusion: the plugins needs beter error recovery while editing the tiddler in question in order to correct the problem on the spot. PS1: MahtML doesnt render properly inside a reveal widget in Opera and Chrome. The hide/show thing is very usefull for the classrom. Since MathJax doesn't sinc I'm forced to use MathML and Firefox.
