[tw] Macro/Plugin request - WidenMainMenuPlugin macro

2008-10-07 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi all

Is there a way to have a macro that toggles a MainMenu so that you
click it once and the MainMenu is wider, and you click it a second
time and it is narrower? Not hidden, just slightly narrower? Maybe the
user could be able to specify the two widths right in the macro?

I think my No-Brainer Notes needs something like that to make it nicer
to work with when one has a longer topic or note title. One can pick
whether one wants to see more of the menu or more of the notes.

Just wondering if the above can be done.

[tw] No-Brainer Notes (now with QuickEditToolbar) now accessible from giffmex.org

2008-10-09 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi guys,

We have more or less officially moved to our new home, and I finally
got a chance to update the website so that No-Brainer Notes is
accessible from the site. I also added some features from Eric
Shulman's QuickEditToolbar so that users can easily format text and
insert links and images.

To access it from our main site, see
http://www.giffmex.org/tw/tiddlywikicentral.html

To view my blog article announcing it (and to browse through our
blog), see http://www.giffmex.org/newsblog/

To go right to No-Brainer Notes' permanent home, see
http://www.giffmex.org/nobrainernotes.html

I hope to get the Spanish version updated with a Spanish version of
QuickEditToolbar this weekend or early next week.

Blessings,

Dave

2008-10-11 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Sure enough you did mention BibblyWiki. I think my eye overlooked it
because it wasn't capitalized. My apologies.

BibblyWiki isn't my favorite of my old projects. In fact, I have on
more than one occasion thought about moving it to my Dustbin on my
webpage. I especially was disappointed that when you have a list of
3,300 books as I have for the seminary library I use it for, the
indexes at the top take too long to generate, and Firefox keeps asking
if you still want to run the script. The problem is that it has to not
only gather and build the list but also apply the visual 'for each
tiddler' code to each entry. My fear is that something like MonkeyGTD
would do the same or worse since it is rather visually oriented, not
with images but with check boxes and the like.

What exactly about MonkeyGTD do you want to incorporate besides the
looks? What do you have in mind for it to do? If any of us is to help
you here we will need to visualize it a bit more.

Blessings,

Dave

2008-10-19 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Probably shouldn't waste anybody's time with this, but...

I can't wait for this election to be over in the US. Out of vanity I
have a Google Alert for No-Brainer Notes, but I am getting flooded
with alerts about the election. People are saying that the election is
a no-brainer, and that Palin has no brain. No one, it seems, is taking
notice of No-Brainer Notes TiddlyWiki, however, except here. Good
thing I don't have a Joe the Plumber TiddlyWiki.

The other trend I am picking up is that everyone seems to be on
Facebook this week. I am getting all kinds of comments and friend
requests this week when usually I only get one or two a month (sent to
my e-mail, since I never go on Facebook). Maybe the financial crisis
is driving everyone away from pastimes that require money, and they
are spending their time on the Internet? I dunno.

[tw] Re: No-Brainer Notes (now with QuickEditToolbar) now accessible from giffmex.org

2008-10-22 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi Iain and Morris

1. The TW version is right there in Acknowledgements & License, so
it's not far away. My goal was to reduce as much clutter as possible
from the main menu.

2. As for color schemes, I am still fond of my NBN colors, and not
nearly as fond of FiddlyWiki's and TW Notes' gradients, etc, though
those are nice looking too. Since NBN is free to use as you wish, just
adjust the StyleSheet and color palette to your liking. I assumed not
everyone would like my style, that's why I put a tiddler mentioning
the option of advanced customization.

3. As for Morris' adaptation, his topmenu font-size is too small for
my tastes, but I like how he has added the history macro to the
tiddlers. I may end up doing that myself someday. Good thinking,
Morris!

[tw] Re: No-Brainer Notes (now with QuickEditToolbar) now accessible from giffmex.org

2008-10-23 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Ah, so you were baiting us...

Seriously, I didn't think you were 'having a go' at me or Morris. I
just wanted to explain why I made the choices I did (and hint that I
didn't plan on making those particular changes).

I started out far less than semi-literate, and am now almost literate.
I don't write code or create plugins, but I can usually tweak things a
bit if they already exist. Learning CSS is definitely worth it. I
recommend you take a little time to learn it. It pays off if you want
to tweak colors and styles in TW. I learned some CSS summer of 2007
and am happy I did. When I forget I check on Hot Dog.

Thanks for the kind words. My goal has always been from the beginning
to make TW as user-friendly for new people as possible, so that others
don't have to go through the same hassle I did in order to use TW. NBN
is probably my most successful attempt at that.

Sorry I can't take your bait right now and help you out. It is late
and I have to go to bed, then do my annual budget tomorrow! Blessings
to you...

As wolfgang wrote, you can use the breadcrumbs plugin as your
navigational tool, and use SinglePageModePlugin in conjunction with
HistoryPlugin to see only one page at a time.

Simon Baird's SitemapPlugin is old and undocumented but I think is
worth reviving.

Find these plugins via TiddlyVault.

The question about opening new tabs in the browser sounds more like a
question of configuring your browser to open in a new tab? Not sure

[tw] Re: No Brainer Notes Tweaks

2008-11-05 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Believe it or not, I didn't know the answer to that one. I had never
tried to change the background of a tiddler before. Here's the answer:

.viewer {background: #5566ff;}
.tiddler {background: #5566ff;}

in StyleSheet.

But since I use some of Simon's CSS in No-Brainer Notes, you will need
to insert the above lines near the bottom of the Stylesheet tiddler,
just above the CSS for printing styles.

[tw] ForEachTiddler with CSS for Images

2008-11-15 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi all,

I want the FET plugin to grab the contents of tiddlers tagged
'photo' (the tiddlers only contain links to photos) but I would like
two qualifications to that:

1. I would like to force the photos to a certain height, and
2. I would like the photos to display in one long horizontal row that
you can scroll across to view.

Any ideas on how I can do this? I am willing to add CSS to every photo
tiddler if need be.

keeping it from widening.

right because I have older TWs I did with the MonkeyTagger and the
viewtemplate looks the same.

I created some tiddlers tagged as each category, and saved changes
and refreshed the browser.

The categories show up in the toolbar correctly, but when I click on
them the dropdown lists with the tiddler titles I created don't
appear.

Any ideas what I did wrong?

2008-11-26 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Actually, oxydum, I have a couple TiddlyWiki files that use
MonkeyTagger and work fine. I tried comparing my unworking file info
with those, but couldn't find the problem.

Here is what I have on the ViewTemplate of the non-working file:

And here are the contents of ToolbarCommands:

|~ViewToolbar|closeTiddler closeOthers +editTiddler deleteTiddler >
fields syncing permalink references jump|
|~EditToolbar|+saveTiddler saveCloseTiddler -cancelTiddler
cancelCloseTiddler deleteTiddler|

Does anyone see anything wrong with that? Or could it be something in
my stylesheet? Or could there be a plugin that is incompatible with
MonkeyTagger? Here is my list of systemConfigs:

# InlineJavascriptPlugin
# MonkeyTagger
# NewHerePlugin
# Override SearchOptionsPlugin options
# RefreshCommand
# RefreshTiddlerPlugin
# SaveCloseTiddlerPlugin
# Search Options plugin tweaks

Here is an empty copy. It is not a prefab TW project, just my own
personal to-do list template.

http://www.giffmex.org/empty.html

To show you what is wrong, click on any tiddler's 'Energy level' drop
down tag. I have tiddlers titled 'High energy', 'Low energy' and
'Whatever' all tagged energylevel. But they do not appear in the
dropdown. It's like the dropdown is locked somehow.

Okay, I figured it out in part:

A. It's a macro
B. To use it in viewtemplate, you add "tag:" immediately before the
tags.

However, one lingering problem: The tags that drop down are by default
all checked. Is there a way to do a config.options so that by default
they are unchecked?

Thanks

[tw] Off-topic looking for advice: using Wordpress as a knowledgebase?

2008-12-12 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi guys

Just wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm tinkering with
using a Wordpress blog as an online knowledge base, like a personal
Wikipedia for one subject.

I'm wondering if there are any negative ramifications to that or
problems you foresee - would it slow down as I add entries, etc? I
thought Wordpress would be nice because

1. Nice variety of themes
2. HTML editor built in - seems easier to write an article with
WordPress than MediaWiki, which I tinkered with earlier this year and
didn't care for.
3. People can get an RSS feed to keep up with new entries.

Here is what I started doing, then realized it would be a good idea to
get input first.

http://www.nt.giffmex.org/

Or if you recommend any other easy-to-use, nice-looking wiki databases
you recommend, that you think would be better for this...

[tw] Please experiment with my new TiddlyTaskAttacker

2008-12-16 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi everyone

I've been using a special system for a while now to organize my tasks
with TiddlyWiki. (Yes, I gave up on my own TiddlyDu2 a long time ago,
even though now lately it's been getting some press on the Internet).
My new project uses special new tiddler macros and other features to
quickly create and delete tasks within various projects.

Now that I am pleased with it and I have found that it works well for
me, I thought I would offer a prefab version in case others find it
handy. I think early this year I was experimenting with something
similar and announced it here. But I wasn't satisfied with that one. I
am pretty happy with this one. I call it TiddlyTaskAttacker and it can
be found here:

http://www.giffmex.org/experiments/TTA.html

Words of warning:
1. The main features are not visible online, so you need to download
it to play with it.
2. I need to refine the instructions here and there. But they are
basically all there.
3. This is not for people who don't want to tinker even just a little
bit. To get it completely customized, you will need to do a little
upfront work, which is not a new experience for TW users. But there
are instructions for how to do that, and the upfront investment of a
few minutes will more than pay off.

Please try it out, then give me feedback on it.

Even if you don't end up using TTA, you may find you want to swipe a
few features here and there.

Blessings and Merry Christmas,

Dave Gifford

If you rely on plugins, they might not last forever and ever,
depending on what innovations browsers come up with. Would that be
correct to say, Eric? That would be one hiccup. Also, the cookies

hiccups will come along. Other than that, I'm counting on TW being

[tw] Re: Announcing two versions of updated TW Notes

2008-12-22 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Wow, Morris, it is indeed a Merry Christmas for TW users. First the
fadingmessagesplugin today and now these cool modifications!

The TW-T notes is fascinating. It is both one tiddler at a time and
multiple tiddlers at a time. What a great combination. The only
drawback of course is the need to close every one separately later. I
would recommend reinstating 'close others' to the tiddler toolbar if
you are doing that, and maybe just maybe have a 'close all' macro
somewhere visible.

I will have to update NBN with a few of your features if you don't
mind, especally having the history macros in each tiddler. I assume
you have made that so that it won't print when the tiddler is printed?

I'm wondering if you can explain the mish-mash thing. I looked at the
thread and still don't get it. Is it something that improves the left-
hand TOC in some way?

One smallísimo suggestion: change index to indexes in the sidebar,
since there are several indexes there.

Another possibility: I made one small tweak this month to NBN that you
might want to incorporate. A friend wanted to create a 'Print all'
tiddler with a FET code in it pulling up all note and topic tiddlers
in alphabetical order. But the way NBN was set up before, the
subtopics and subsubtopics and note tiddlers created with newhere
weren't getting tagged as notes. So what I did was change the
newhereplugin so that it adds the tag 'note' to all tiddlers created
with the newhere macro. Then all topics, subtopics and notes will be
listed by any ForEachTiddler index anyone creates. Just grab the
Newhereplugin off my NBN. I really should change the name of it since
I have modified it. I'll get to all this stuff one of these days...

Again, kudos to you. Blessings and Merry Christmas,

Dave Gifford

[tw] Updates to No-Brainer Notes

2008-12-22 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi all

Inspired today by Morris Gray's adaptations of my No-Brainer Notes, I
have updated NBN:
http://www.giffmex.org/nobrainernotes.html

and its Spanish version, Notas sin Líos:
http://www.giffmex.org/esp/notassinlios.html

The changes:
1. Back, history and forward macros are now available from every
tiddler, as in Morris' adaptation. These will not show up if you print
the tiddler.
2. SidebarTabs is now hidden in a slider, as in Morris' adaptation.
This apparently helps in search optimization.
3. Tags box is now hidden. I vacilate as to whether it is worth having
on the tiddler.
4. Newhere plugin is renamed since it is an adapation, and clicking
newhere will tag your tiddlers 'note'. That way if you create
ForEachTiddler indexes, ALL your notes will be listed, not just the
ones created from the topmenu.
5. A couple Spanish corrections I spotted in the Spanish version.
(No, I don't plan to do a TiddlerBarPlugin version as Morris has. I'm
just not won over by the TBP concept.)

Thanks for the inspiration and the ideas, Morris. Keep 'em coming!

[tw] Re: Announcing two versions of updated TW Notes

2008-12-22 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

@MrMakaveli

Morris' mainmenu is built on mine so I don't think I'm out of line by
answering this.

It's not easy to explain our MainMenus since it is a rather
complicated web of plugins and scripts. Double click on the tiddler
MainMenu and you will see the script and the macro used there. One is
for the refresh button, and the next is the foreachtiddler index. That
index is what populates the table of contents.

Also see the tag systemConfig to see what plugins were used. I
basically liked Simon's SiteMapMacro and used that, but it required a
few other plugins. If I'm not mistaken, InlineJavascriptPlugin and
NestedSlidersPlugin (which I had to adapt slightly). There are also
CSS styles applied to it for the look of it.

One difference between Morris' and mine: With Morris' the scripts
mentioned above are in the tiddlers for the main topics (He has Topic
and Topic2 on display for you). The advantage of this is that the
topics show up with bold red titles in contrast to the notes and
subtopics within them. Nice visual touch. The drawback is that you
have to manually add the topics to the mainmenu, and that you can't
collapse the main topics down, you have to see the entire menu for
each topic. With mine, the topics subtopics and notes are all the same
font styles, but they get automatically added to the mainmenu and can
be collapsed completely. You can pick which is the better fit for you.

I'm sure that doesn't help much, but I'm really at a loss as to what
else to tell you. Blessings

Hi Morris, I hope you didn't take my comment as a slight of your new
creation, because it wasn't meant that way. I understood perfectly
what you are describing here when I wrote. I realize that each Master
topic is its own No-Brainer index. It's a cool idea. And I like being
able to have separate formatting for the master topics. It's something
I always wished I could do in NBN but don't see how it can be done
except your way. My comment was only meant to point out the advantages
and disadvantages of each approach. With your way, the advantage, as I
see it, is the formatting, a definite weakness of mine, since whatever
CSS is applied to master topics gets applied to the whole index. With
my way the advantage is that all the subtopics and notes can be buried
under the master topic, whereas your first layer of subtopics for
every master topic is always visible, taking up valuable vertical real
estate.

> The only manual adding is after you've created a new Master Topic is
> to insert it into MainMenu.  And it's worth the effort because what
> you are actually doing is creating another NoBrainer within TW Notes.

I agree that it is worth the effort. I too have projects that require
a little assembly to make them work well. My comment about it being a
drawback is just from experience here, especially with the original
TiddlyDu2 creation process, that newbies don't want to have to add
anything. So for them it's a drawback.

> Please understand they are two different animals and TW Notes is
> higher up the food chain :-)

In versatility, yes. In simplicity, no. That's why I think having two
versions is worth it. Many will appreciate your more nuanced search
options, your take on master topics, your gradients, your extra
quickedit options, your more complete instructions, etc. Others will
want my simplicity, my clean flat spaces and the full collapsibility
of my mainmenu.

I hope that you don't see my revisions today as competition or
oneupmanship. Long ago you came out with the first TW Notes as a tweak
of mine. I thought at the time that I needed to incorporate a couple
of your changes, and never got to it. Today upon seeing your further
improvements, and because a couple things I meant to do today got shot
down by circumstances, I found the time and motivation to do what I
always meant to do before.

So to sum up, once again thanks for the new TW toy under the tree. And
have a wonderful Christmas!

[tw] Re: Please experiment with my new TiddlyTaskAttacker

2008-12-31 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Ken

Thanks for your kind words, but your comments about new master topics
makes me think you are referring to No-Brainer Notes, another recent
project of mine. TTA is a to-do list organizer and has no master
topics. This thread is really asking for people to try TTA
(TiddlyTaskAttacker) at http://www.giffmex.org/experiments/TTA.html.

As for your idea about adding forms to NBN, I have to confess that
forms are a bit beyond me. I did some for BibblyWiki a long time ago,
but they were cumbersome and time-consuming. There's got to be a
better way.

I'd love it if you could click on New Master Topic and have a popup
form ask you what the title of the master topic is, and when you click
okay it
1. adds your title to both the tiddler title and sitemap slider, and
2. Puts the new tiddler in view mode and opens a second popup telling
you to add subtopics and notes with the new here button. This second
popup would need a 'close' button.

I'm thinking something like the look of the RenameTag bookmarklet
popups, but not accessed by a bookmarklet, but by the New Master Topic
button on the topmenu.

If any of you out there want to come up with this, I will gladly add
it to the official file and copiously praise you in the credits
tiddler. But I'm afraid I won't be able to do it myself, Ken.

[tw] Re: If I want NBN type tree, do I have to start over?

2008-12-31 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Whether you import your tiddlers from another TW to NBN or use the
Tagtreeplugin that Eric mentioned, you are no doubt going to need to
do some re-tagging so that your tiddlers line up in the new menu.
Tagtreeplugin looks nice and has the advantage that you already have
your TW the way you like it and don't need to export to another TW.
NBN's advantage is that the slider menu is already in place. Tagging
involved, but no plugin installation needed.

Importing should work okay. Just make sure to import the plugins that
NBN doesn't have, and *don't* overwrite tiddlers like Stylesheet,
viewtemplate, pagetemplate, etc.

You can import your calendarplugin from your TW to NBN and place the
macro in the mainmenu tiddler wherever you like it.

If you import to NBN and have problems, let me know.

[tw] Re: TW Notes Doesn't like "My" master topic

2008-12-31 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

That's because you are using CamelCase letters, which are used for
links in TW. It doesn't get formatted the same since links are
formatted differently by your stylesheet. You have 3 options to stop
it from being a link:

1. Disable camelcase links with a plugin (I forget which one but it
should be in TiddlyVault).
2. Add a tilde (~) before each CamelCase link.
3. Change your topics to non-camelcase lettering.

[tw] No-Brainer Notes announcement

2009-01-02 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi all,

Some of you may have been away on holiday when I announced some
changes to No-Brainer Notes. The changes are buried in various threads
over the course of December. So this post is an attempt to, um, tie
some threads together (no pun intended), and throw in a few new
twists.

1. There are now two versions of No-Brainer Notes.

2. The original version uses the HistoryPlugin. I recently added the
backward, forward and history buttons to all tiddlers using
Viewtemplate to facilitate navigation and added a few other changes
inspired by Morris Gray's TW Notes (which is based on NBN). Thanks to
Morris for his great new tweaks and features. The original version can
be found here:
http://www.giffmex.org/nobrainernoteswithouttabs.html

3. The new version, which is now the official version accessible from
my website, uses the TiddlerBarPlugin, so that while you only see one
tiddler at a time, you can see your open tiddlers via tabs. I
originally didn't like the TiddlerBarPlugin, but after playing with it
a bit on NBN, I have grown to like it. The new, official, TiddlerBar
version can be found here:
http://www.giffmex.org/nobrainernotes.html

4. Both versions add a feature that will be helpful if you ever need
to create a ForEachTiddler index of your notes and topics. Now all new
subtopics and notes have the 'note' tag added to them, whether they
are created from the topmenu or from the new here button in the
tiddler toolbar.

5. Both versions correct a short-lived mistake I made: when adding the
feature in #4, I accidentally imported the version of NewHerePlugin
that I used for the Spanish version. So new here tiddlers were being
created with a Spanish tag in them (nota) rather than the necessary
English tag (note). Thanks to Morris Gray for spotting that.

6. In both versions, instead of 'new here', the new here button reads
*create subtopic within this topic*. Though it's a bit long, I thought
this would be clearer for newbies than 'new here'. The goal of NBN is
to be as no-brainer as possible so that new people can jump right in.
TW pros can open ViewTemplate and change that back in their own copies
if it's too long for their tastes.

No-Brainer Notes is a work in progress, like everything else I do. If
anyone has any other suggestions or corrections, I'll be happy to
consider them.

Morris Gray has a couple of versions of TW Notes based on NBN. These
have features not included in NBN, and are worth your consideration as
well. Happy note-taking and happy new year!

2009-01-02 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

You can give the tiddlers you want to print a tag that is specific
only to those tiddlers (say, YOURTAG). Then create a tiddler with this
code:

<>

If you have a lot of multiple tiddler printing to do, this of course
will become rather time-consuming.

[tw] Re: How to fix line height on bullets (and/or, how to fix CSS)

2009-01-11 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Sounds like you might be using one of my TW adaptations, which all
have bulleted lists with extra spacing. If so, just go to Stylesheet
and delete the following:

/*UNORDERED and ORDERED LISTS TWEAK*/
.viewer li {padding-top: 0.5em; padding-bottom: 0.5em;}

Then you will be back to normal TW line heights.

This is an annoyance? Just be happy for all that functionality. I use
tags quite a bit now, though when I was a newbie I didn't use it at
all.

My annoyances with the original TW design are still the following:

1. Header is so stinking tall! What a bunch of vertical real estate
gets wasted on the header. Almost all my TW adaptations reduce that
quite a bit.
2. TW and most of the TW users tend to favor Arial font, which I find
unpleasant to read. All my stuff is switched to Verdana, and some of
my personal stuff is now in Calibri.
3. When you make change #2 you discover how incredibly narrow the
MainMenu is, so I had to widen it on mine.

Those are the only changes I would make to the standard interface. The
rest of the changes I make by default are things I don't think should
be part of the standard TW interface.

[tw] Footer for all tiddlers?

2009-01-17 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Someone has asked me how to do a footer accessing another tiddler,
that appears at the bottom of every tiddler. I told him the answer is
probably a div class at the bottom of the ViewTemplate, but I don't
know what the line of code would look like. If the tiddler being
accessed were FootNote, what would the line in the ViewTemplate read?

[tw] Extra text area at the top of the tiddler

2009-01-28 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi all,

How could I adjust the viewtemplate and edittemplate so that in the
tiddler I have a wikified text area similar to tiddler.text, but above
the toolbar and tiddler title? I'm planning on making a thin strip
where I hand input a hierarchical menu.

Thanks

Not working for me. The ListBox instructions aren't very user-friendly
for me. Fields? fieldn...@tiddlername? Values? etc...Got an error in
select macro when I tried it.

The easyFormat plugin was fairly simple to adapt to use it to insert
custom text by clicking a button and choosing from a list. Seems like
Quickedit should be able to do the same, right? Why would I need a
Listbox plugin? Or how would I use LBP in conjunction with Quickedit
button?

[tw] Check out my latest experiment, and questions about it

2009-01-29 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Okay so this is not a template that will appear among my free
TiddlyWiki 'products'. It's just something I'm making to be able to
share information over the web. But I just thought some of you might
want a look at it in its infancy stage.

http://www.giffmex.org/experiments/empty.html

The main new element here is that I created a narrow band across the
top of some of the index and note tiddlers for navigation, eliminating
the need for a MainMenu. I have to hand input the information for the
narrow band each time, so this would be impractical if I were using it
for everday personal note-taking, but this one is for display and
distribution of info over the web.

Now if I could get Eric to help me figure out how best to insert
various texts from a dropdown list in a tiddler's edit view, texts
like

  {{bluearrow{►}}}

That would make the hand inputting much faster.

Not being up to speed on this, but do the   characters and the ►
characters show correctly on all browsers?

Blessings

Dave

2009-02-01 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

Hi Jeremy

You can see TiddlyWiki in Action which is a showcase of the way people
have used TiddlyWiki.
You can see the slideshow, tutorial and TiddlyWiki templates I created
for non-techie audiences. Some, especially No-Brainer Notes, are very
useful and easy to use for newcomers to TiddlyWiki.

Gray's excellent and more up-to-date TW Help.
TiddlyVault is a plugin index for TiddlyWiki.
All these can be accessed by going to http://www.giffmex.org

Also tiddlyspot.com has a gallery of TiddlyWikis hosted at their site.
(Morris also has adaptations of my No-Brainer Notes hosted on
Tiddlyspot that are nice too)

[tw] slider css

2009-02-01 Thread Dave Gifford - http://www.giffmex.org/

I want to create a layered outline of a book's contents with sliders
to open and close the various levels. I'd like to use the basic slider
macro to access tiddlers with deeper layers of the outline. I don't
want all the various levels in one tiddler, which would get too messy.

But I noticed that if I assign a CSS class to a slider, the class gets
extended to the contents of the tiddler too, which I don't want.

How would I add a css class, like bold, to the slider label but not to
the contents of the tiddler being accessed by the slider?

No plugins, just normal slider macros in the tiddler TabContents:

There are sliders within sliders within sliders too.
