Re: [tw] Re: Problem upgrading tbGTD in FF 6.x to TW 2.6.4?
Hi Tobias, 2011/9/20 Tobias Beer beertob...@googlemail.com: @Dirk Try importing from your version into a new version while having both in the same local folder. Now it worked. Don't know why, but tried it before without success. Thanks for kicking me to try again. ;-) Regards Viele Grüße Dirk -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Re: [tw] Problem upgrading tbGTD in FF 6.x to TW 2.6.4?
Hi, 2011/9/20 David Masterson dsmaster...@gmail.com: The new tbGTD is usable except for info on formatting macro that shows up in adding anything new to the TW. In the new tbGTD, this macro shows up as a red missing macro parameters error. Apparently, something didn't import into the new tbGTD from the old one. The same here, it starts nagging from 2.6.x but I found nothing more then the message. It works normally. On the other side I can not upgrade to 2.6.4 (even manually) because of an error on importing the tiddlers to the new empty tiddly but have no time to look at deeper right now. Anyone know how to fix this? Here not, sorry. Regards Dirk -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Add an image to the Tiddly-Title?
Hi, I'm searching for a hint to insert an image (company logo) into the title of a tiddly (template). I could not find any ready-to-use solution like for all problems before. Is there a solution at all? Thanks in advance. Dirk -- --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. The end of NET? (was: [tw] Re: now Alternate Time Systems in TW- major thread drift.)
Hallo rtimwest, rtimwest rtimw...@gmail.com schrieb am 04.06.2009 16:17 Uhr: I contacted the folks at New Earth Time through their web page about the apparent conflict between the GPL(s), Creative Commons License, and their copyright notice that states that explicit permission must be obtained in order to distribute or use NET commercially. AFAIK, the Creative Commons License allows commercial use, and the GPL does, but with stipulations intended to ENSURE free distribution, not restrict it. English is not my native language (far from it), but I understand the statement on the NET website as focussed on 'commercialization', not distributing. But I'm fully agree with your arguments that this point needs a clear explanation from degree NET Ltd. The used terminology ('The [...] concept is intellectual property of') doesn't sound like an invitation to use the concept. I received a short but polite response from Mark Laugesen, who has New Earth Time, Canberra in his e-mail sig. He expressed some interest in TiddlyWiki, and also expressed regret at the situation, but made no concrete offers or promises to change anything. In my humble opinion ist doesn't help - nor you for distributing the plugin, neither the propagation of NET. I'm not all all certain that they could make this stick- it seems to me unlikely that dividing the day into 360 units is the sort of thing that can be protected by copyright, although they can probably at least do that with the name. The CONCEPT would only be patentable (in theory) if there were no prior examples... but IANAL, and have no vested interest in contesting their claims or promoting their idea against their wishes. I'm fully agree and I'm sure, that there are a lot of regions on earth where such concepts never will get a protection by law. Accordingly, the prototype program NETTimePlugin has been removed from my accessible sites, even in it's pre-release form, even though it was not linked to, to prevent any possibility of distribution. It's a pity! Again for both - te concept and your implemtation. But I understand your irritations and support this decision. Regards! Dirk -- signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
[tw] tid...@mobile
Hello *, just an easy question: anybody tried to run the Tiddly @ mobile phones or PDA? I'm using Symbian and Palm here and it could be nice to use it on these devices. Before I try by myself to use Tiddly there, I would like to know about others experience for that case. So long, Dirk -- signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

It is very exciting for me to follow your discussion. And as I was the one who held it here in the list, I have to say 'Thank You' to you and all who helped with the NET and the beat time. It opens a lot of interesting facts to me. But I have one little question to you: Why a timesystem, what is done for everydays use should be copyrighted? Honestly I was shocked reading the following at the NET site [1]: Everything here is copyright 1999 - 2004 degree NET ltd. All rights are reserved. [...] The '360 degrees of time' concept is the intellectual property, patent pending, of degree NET ltd. If you wish to incorporate New Earth Time within a product for sale or distribution, or otherwise commercialise it, you must have our permission before doing so. I really have no idea how this could work. Could anyone it explain to me, please. Thanks in advance. About BMT I could not find any legal einformation, but as it is linked to Swatch as a producer of watches I'm not really awaiting a free solution. On the other hand it was designed by Nicholas Negroponte, who now maily works @ the OLPC project. Away from all the legal stuff NET to me seems to be the better concept. But it is subjective and who likes BMT may use it. :-) I think they both are neat geek toys and the actual time system will not be changed to any of them. But it's a lot of fun, really. :-) Kind reagards Dirk -- signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

[tw] Re: Start script (before DefaultTiddler)
Hello Eric FDN, hi *, Eric Shulman wrote on 15.05.2009 10:32: You don't need InlineJavascriptPlugin to invoke code at startup. Just put your code into a tiddler (*without* the surrounding script.../ script markers), and tag that tiddler with 'systemConfig'. Thanks for pointing it out. My thought not to do so earlier was, that a plugin has to be something 'great'. Ok, now I know better and wrote my first 'plugin'. :-) It works. Yeah! For an explanation of some of the differences between inline scripts and plugins, please read: I have to read a lot more of the documentation, but Tiddly asks really to give all the functionality a try - before reading any documentation. You should avoid using 'document.write()' in inline scripts... [...] is, instead, written into the current tiddler. In the given case it is what it should do, but thanks again for the hints. I will try your solutions soon. enjoy, -e I'll do. For sure. :-) Thanks, Dirk --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group.
