[tw] Re: New update for twYp

2010-11-07 Thread Måns
Hi
  twyp player video:Agile width:600 height:400 notitle
will show automatically all videos related to agile when tiddler is
  opened without entering Agile manually.
I vote for that funtion too!!
I'll think about that. Would you see that as a substitute for the
option to save 1 video to your tiddler or would you see that as a
complement? In other words, would there be a situation when you'd want
to save both, the initial search term along with the video
reference ...or should that even be the default without having
anything else to do or consider?
I don't think it's the actual search which I would want to save here -
it's the next part where you have clicked one of the searchresults and
it's shown in a player with a list of related videos below the player.
If twyp player video:[[title|videourl]] width:600 height:400
notitle could be extended to show related videos beneath the player
- maybe with an added related option in the macrocall:
twyp player video:[[title|videourl]] width:600 height:400 notitle
*related*..
That would be a really great additional feature to the twyp-plugin!
However I'm using http://ytinstant.com/#$1 in tiddlers where $1 is the
youtube videourl I want to open - with related videos...

Not quite true with the url - its an actual search - and you can't be
sure that it will open the same video every time you use it...

Hi Måns,

I will think about your idea, too... mabe it's better, after all, to
only have one player per twyp... not an extra one for the associated
video... in other words: to load an associuated video into the same
player as the search result. All that requires some restructuring and
might take a while.

[tw] Re: New update for twYp

2010-11-05 Thread Tobias Beer
I'am thinking of that the key word can be hard coded in the twyp
function call, thus the tiddler opens always with the same search but
 possibly different result sets.
 E.g.
 twyp player video:Agile width:600 height:400 notitle
will show automatically all videos related to agile when tiddler is
 opened without entering Agile manually.

I'll think about that. Would you see that as a substitute for the
option to save 1 video to your tiddler or would you see that as a
complement? In other words, would there be a situation when you'd want
to save both, the initial search term along with the video
reference ...or should that even be the default without having
anything else to do or consider?

Of course, I understand your main wish is to just store and restore
the search, not an individual video. So there would have to be at
least one additional button to be clicked or some other event being
used to save the search term(s).

Right now, I would probably save it into an additional field, e.g.
called youtube_search ...or if you had specified field:myvideo
then I would save it into myvideo_search.

I guess cramming both the video link and the search terms into the
same field is probably not a good idea ...although that could be
achieved by some separator, e.g. the pipe |.

But then, of course, there now is the keyword search, too. So, I
guess, I would have to save both search terms.

Cheers, Tobias.

Currently the search keyword is to be entered *after* twyp is rendered
- pro: variable search expr; cons: the keyword has to entered each
time twyp opens.

I tried the twyp plugin in an vanilla TW - but in my TW it doesn't
