[Tinyos-help] does TinyOS 2.0.2 support TinyViz?

2008-04-23 Thread Ahren Reed

Hi,

Sorry for the newbie question; I didn't see the subject of graphical modeling
of networks listed in the FAQ. I'm just learning TinyOS and I would like to
use something like TinyViz to model my network, so I can show people in a
classroom what my network is doing. Does TinyVis work with TinyOS 2.0?

Also, can someone please tell me if there is another GUI that I can use with
TOSSIM?

Thanks,

Ahren

[Tinyos-help] Problem with XubunTOS installer

2008-04-13 Thread Ahren Reed

Hi,

I am trying to do the One-Step Install With a Live CD. I downloaded the
XubunTOS disk image from the Toilers page:

http://toilers.mines.edu/Public/XubunTOS

The disk image starts up fine, but the Install program gets stuck in a loop on
part 4 of 7, which is, Prepare Disk Space.

It doesn't matter which option I choose, A) Guided-resize, B)
Guided-use entire disk, or C) Manual. It always comes up with the same
error:

Failed to Create a File System

The ext3 file system creation in partition #1 of SCSI3 (0,0,0) (sda) failed.

If I use the program defaults, it fails. If I follow the instructions
in the error messages and set up a root partition (which this installer
doesn't do???) it also fails. No matter what partitions I set up, the
installer says:

You need to specify a partition for the root file system

(mount point /) with a minimum size of 2 GB, and a

swap partition of at least 256 MB. You may also set up

other partitions if you wish.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm running a fairly new
computer, it is a Dell Dimension 8300 with a p4 and 1 GB of RAM. Ug! I
need to install TinyOS for a class.

Thanks for any help on this!

[Tinyos-help] install problem with rpm

2006-03-22 Thread Ahren Reed
Hi,

I'm installing TinyOS and nesC on a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. My OS is Ubuntu
5.10 Breezy Badger. I ran into only one problem when I followed the TinyOS
installation instructions:

The avr-insight rpm gave me trouble. Apparently it wanted to modify a file
previously installed by another rpm?

here is what I got:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/ahren/cs451/TinyOs# alien -i
avr-insight-pre6.0cvs.tinyos-1.3.i386.rpm
dpkg: error processing avr-insight_pre6.0cvs.tinyos-2.3_i386.deb (--install):
 trying to overwrite `/usr/local/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/opcodes.mo', which
is also in package avr-binutils
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 avr-insight_pre6.0cvs.tinyos-2.3_i386.deb

So, what is the avr-insight-pre6.0cvs rpm? Is it really important, or can I
just ignore it and hope for the best? (haha) Anybody know of a workaround for
this error?

Cheers!

Ahren
